We are presently looking for an experienced and result-driven Territory Sales Manager-Nanaimo for our retail and wholesale market.

Here’s what you’ll be responsible for in this role

Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, a Territory Sales Manager is responsible for gaining market share in the assigned territory. Primary duties include selling, prospecting customers, servicing and growing sales to existing accounts, attending trade shows, conducting product presentations, and maintaining superior customer relations. This position is primarily focused on increasing sales, customer procurement and retention.

Responsibilities:

  • To sell company products and actively manage assigned customer accounts.
  • Provide superior customer service to all existing and potential customers.
  • To become a product expert and actively use the knowledge to grow sales.
  • To establish and maintain key industry and business relationships.
  • To identify and solicit new business opportunities, including cold calling.
  • To inform client base of all marketing initiatives and promotions.
  • To inform and train operations staff on product and sales knowledge.
  • To participate and aid in the product training of new employees;
  • To utilize the technical tools available in order to provide the sales team customer information, sales call information, competitive market analysis and planning (e.g., as sales reports, CRM programs, etc).
  • Collaborate with marketing department on all facets of product marketing, social media initiatives and all related sales activity.

However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to the base salary, this position is eligible for a sales incentive. The availability and amount of the incentive bonus will depend on your contribution and the Company's performance, in accordance with the terms of the incentive plan.

PLC Technician

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

The incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day preventive maintenance tasks and repair of electrical power and electronic equipment, troubleshooting, instrumentation calibration, PLC programming, and assisting with any mechanical repairs. Will possess a thorough understanding and hands-on experience with electrical & electronic maintenance principles. Troubleshoot machine breakdown, repair situations, and safely restore the machine to the proper operating condition. Must adhere to all company safety policies while performing tasks, and at all times when on the premises.

Essential Functions

  • The ability to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Troubleshoot PLCs, modify or create programs, and spec new PLCs if replacement is necessary.
  • Must have a solid ability to solve machine operation problems using a skill set of deductive reasoning, and electric test meters.
  • Conducts inspections and replaces or repairs non-operational equipment and/or components of equipment that are hindering the equipment from operating efficiently.
  • Should have a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of electrical principles and adequate skills to understand various plant processes.
  • Positive working attitude toward other employees; be a team player.

PLC Reliability Responsibilities

  • Perform daily activities needed to support and comply with requirements surrounding plant maintenance activities.
  • Be on call in a rotation with the other day shift electricians.
  • Testing electrical systems and equipment using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
  • Rebuild components to be used on the equipment in the plant along with reading and interpreting blueprints and layout instructions and having knowledge/understanding of hydraulic/pneumatic theory. Must be able to read and understand blueprints schematics and wire control panels.
  • Must be able to write and/or modify PLC programs.
  • Will assist line mechanics and electricians as necessary when needed to support production including all of the above listed tasks and other means of support as needed.
  • Will participate in training to continue to enhance PLC skills
  • Follow all safety precautions while performing tasks at all times
  • All areas are to be clean and clear of any debris before/after maintenance days and holidays.

Environmental and Health Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures
  • Promote a safe, accident-free, and healthy work environment
  • Report all EHS incidents – Injuries/Recordables, Near Misses, First Aid, Environmental and Property/Equipment Damage
  • Adhere to site Waste Management and Recycling policies

  • Complete daily housekeeping of Maintenance work areas as well as equipment storage areas

Education and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED plus a minimum of 10 (10) years of electrical experience is preferred
  • Must have a valid forklift license and complete associated training requirements for safe operations and maintenance of forklifts (Will train if needed)
  • Must Maintain a positive rating as described in the training/qualification evaluation record as a Maintenance Electrician
  • 10 years of industrial maintenance experience is preferred
  • Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required

POSITION SUMMARY

In alignment with the company vision, mission, values, and objectives, the technician will troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and improve mechanical systems with the intent of improving uptime and efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Ensures operation of machinery, electrical, and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical and electrical devices in operation; listening for problems; and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; and examining the form and texture of parts.
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and/or other measuring instruments.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
  • Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; and monitoring compliance.
  • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Provides mechanical and electrical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Prepares mechanical and electrical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Troubleshoot/Diagnose 3-phase, up to 480V causes of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operation equipment, utilizing standard electronic test equipment while referencing technical drawings and documents

  • Extrusion Line Operator - Extruded Tape - The position is responsible for extruding raw materials into a film that is rolled up into roll form. Employee is responsible for the production, paperwork, and storage of the PTFE Film Extruded for their machine

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Codifier dans SAP Maintenance les pièces de rechange essentielles;
  • Faire le suivi auprès des fournisseurs pour les demandes de prix;
  • S’assurer de capturer les améliorations possibles et la bonne mise à jour des plans d’entretien dans SAP Maintenance;
  • Participer à la rédaction des procédures de maintenance;
  • S’assurer que les indicateurs de performance du département sont capturés et préparés;
  • Représenter le site de LaSalle au sein du comité de partage des bonnes pratiques planification;
  • Créer et suivre les bons de travail du département;

Program Summary:

 

Our 18-month development program provides participants a full-time operational role, designed to improve their manufacturing skills and exposure to Saint-Gobain North America. Participants will be located at one singular manufacturing plant for 18 months and will be involved with quarterly travel to other Saint-Gobain manufacturing sites in North America. The time split between local site projects and EOM program activities is 80:20 respectively. Classroom-based E-learnings, hands-on action-based learning in operational environments as well as a plethora of networking opportunities, are just some of the activities in place designed to accelerate your career development and future career growth. These trainings and quarterly travel opportunities are a requirement for program completion and full participation should be given, except for extenuating circumstances. While start dates for EOM program participants may vary, program activities kickoff each year in July and end 18 months later in December of the following year. Upon program completion, EOM Engineers will work with our dedicated Human Resources team to find an operational role in one of our nearly 160 sites throughout North America. While a final placement role is not guaranteed, most EOM Engineer graduates are able to choose from multiple Saint-Gobain sites for final placement offers.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED 

  • Post-secondary Diploma.
  • Two to three (2-3) years of applied professional experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work independently in a busy environment
  • Read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English
  • Self-starter with developed analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Ability to travel to other countries for training as required
  • Strong commitment to safety.

 

PREFERRED OR DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • College Diploma
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer Proficiency in AutoCAD, SAP, Kronos, and Microsoft Office
  • Preferred: experience in storeroom management
  • Demonstrated leadership and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate others to achieve safety and productivity goals
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and implement change
  • Demonstrated ability to be highly motivated, self-directed who can work with limited daily supervision or instruction
  • Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma tools, or World Class Manufacturing, for business process improvement

WORKING CONDITIONS 

Weekend and holiday work required at times. Occasional long hours. Environment may include exposure to noise, heat & dirt/dusty conditions. Heavy presence on the production floor is essential.  Some airline/ground travel may be required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

Manufacturing Plant environment may require some climbing, lifting, traversing uneven terrain.
