**The ideal candidate will reside in the greater Nashville area**

The Territory Manager (TM) for CertainTeed Exterior Products is responsible for sales growth of CertainTeed’s (CT) portfolio of Roofing products and systems by generating sustained demand and positioning CT as the preferred choice among owner, architect, builder, contractor, and distribution customer audiences in a manner consistent with CertainTeed’s strategic direction.

  • Works collaboratively with Regional Sales Manager to deliver sales growth and sustained demand.
  • Meets Performance Objectives and Incentive Sales Goals as determined by management.
  • Achieves specifications for Value Added Products (VAP) and increases project closing rate in the residential market.
  • Develops and implements territory strategy consistent with the overall business to maximize quality / effectiveness and quantity of sales calls.
  • Calls on end-users, contractors, builders, architects/specifiers, owners and homebuilders creating a “pull-through” demand, subsequently working with distribution customers to close related sales.
  • Actively targets and tracks construction projects from planning through bidding phases to maximize closing rates using company provided tools.
  • Builds, maintains and adds value to relationships between customers and CT’s organization; customers include all audiences, including owners, specifiers, contractors, distributors, etc.
  • Conducts and participates in sales promotions and educational meeting with architects, contractors, builders and builder sales representative, applicators, distributors and other trade factors.

What do you bring?

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, marketing, business or similar discipline. OR Comparable experience in lieu of a degree - Five (5) years of equivalent training and experience that provides thorough knowledge of the laws, regulations and practices concerned with the field of construction
  • 4+ years of applied professional experience which includes managing customer relationships, sales presentations and closings of sales
  • Knowledge of residential construction practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and build quality relationships through networking.
  • Good interpersonal, negotiating and problem solving skills
  • Excellent presentation skills with good written and oral communication
  • Valid Driver’s License

Certain locations require pay information be provided in job postings. Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees’ wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the national pay range for this position which is $70,000 to $105,000 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.   

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 45% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $101,500 to $152,200. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.

Principal Scientist – Polymers

CertainTeed Residential Roofing is seeking a driven, talented, and experienced R&D Principal Scientist to join their team, specializing in polymer science and engineering.

The R&D Principal Scientist will lead the overall R&D efforts for multiple roofing product portfolios, including polymer modified asphalt shingles, underlayment, and other related products. This individual will manage R&D labs at multiple sites, ensuring the successful development and implementation of cutting-edge polymer technologies in the production of residential roofing products, driving raw material qualification, and championing product improvements. The role involves extensive collaboration with cross-functional groups such as operations, processing, purchasing, marketing, and other key stakeholders to drive product improvements and innovation. This individual will lead a team in developing cutting-edge polymer modified asphalt products, driving raw material qualification, and championing product improvements. The ideal candidate will possess a strategic mindset, advanced technical expertise, and a proven track record of new product development in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment. The R&D Principal Scientist will grow and develop the Polymer team to deliver business needs.

  • Lead project teams to develop polymer modified asphalt products, enhance product performance and qualify raw materials.
  • Develops and leads a high-performance team to execute and deliver on project objectives. Holds direct reports and project teams accountable in the appropriate manner. Communicates to all stakeholders from plant personnel, operations management, finance, purchasing, marketing, and research and development to drive projects.
  • Maintains technical competence in polymer chemistry, formulation, process technology, and product applications.
  • Interfaces with manufacturing facilities to build relationships and establish support to execute projects in a cross-functional environment.
  • Identifies opportunities that could impact sustainability with innovative solutions and works with R&D, operations, and technical teams to develop and deploy.
  • Manages the Stage Gate process for team and individual projects including leading the technical components of Gate reviews and ensuring all related documentation is complete.
  • Develops and encourages innovation and Intellectual Property (IP) development and fosters IP development through the patent process with legal support.
  • Fosters a strong safety culture by proactively identifying risks, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols, and holding the team accountable for achieving and exceeding safety performance goals.

Essential Functions

  • Manages multiple projects simultaneously, on time, well documented and within budget to meet business and customer objectives. Presents data and results in oral and written form. Generate project timelines/plans, technical memos, research reports, and presentations to internal customers, project teams, and/or management.
  • Effectively leads cross functional teams by managing (either directly or indirectly) others to execute and deliver project objectives. Works closely with product management, operations, quality and codes/compliance.
  • Leads a group of R&D engineers/technicians. Defines the associated tasks and milestones for research, and proposes the technical approach, cost estimates, and timeline.
  • Leads and/or executes strategic assignments related to either plant technology or equipment or business development by performing analyses, setting up action plans and coordinating/executing such actions that are necessary to achieve the business goal.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree with 15+ years of experience; Master’s Degree with 10+ years of experience or PhD with 6+ years of experience in Polymer Science, Polymer Chemistry, Polymer Engineering, or other related disciplines. Relevant industrial R&D experience required, preferably in polymer science.

  • 3+ years in project leadership; managing large multi-departmental projects and managing R&D portfolios.
  • 3+ years of experience as a People Manager.
  • Expertise in polymer chemistry, formulation, processing, and characterization. In-depth understanding of polymer formulation structure-property relationships to enable new product development and achieve the specific functional performance.
  • Proven track record of bringing materials to industrial scale and successful product commercialization.
  • Lead projects within a structured process (Stage Gate), with proven contribution to product portfolio development and successful product launches.
  • Must have experience in a manufacturing environment and understand the principles of continuous production processes.
  • Statistical tools, data analysis, and drawing conclusions based on a collection of data and interpretation.
  • Experience with asphalt preferred.
  • Experience with building materials/building industry preferred.

Manufacturing Operator (Finishing Operator II - Sandblaster)

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

Finishing Operator II (Sandblaster) will be responsible primarily for using blasting equipment and techniques to remove excess material from various ceramic products. The operator also works within the Fired Finishing department and may be cross trained to achieve engineered specifications for ceramic products through various types of machines or hand tools for multiple operations (including grinding/finishing, cutting to dimensions, dressing, speed testing, washing, glazing, etc.)

Pay Details: Starting at $23.40

Shift details: 1st Shift

Essential Functions:

  • Operates a manual sandblast booth and is required to wear full bodied suits and helmets.
  • Uses product-finishing knowledge to assess appearance, weights, finish, and dimensions against specifications.
  • Operate finishing machines that involve more complex, computer-controlled operations that require more elaborate setups.
  • Cut products with more complex finish geometry and shape requirements.
  • Inspects product and equipment to verify or determine changes in dimensional requirements using rulers, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Studies blueprints, work orders, machine instructions and applies finishing experience to determine product specifications, tool/equipment requirements or operational sequences. Typically for a Finishing Operator II, the set-up involves a greater number of steps and pieces.
  • Selects machine tooling to be used, utilizing knowledge of machine and production requirements, adjusts production equipment/machinery set-up using hand or power tools. Transfers equipment, objects, or parts to specified work areas using moving devices when applicable.
  • Records product and processing data on specified forms and computers.
  • Works with a high-powered wet saw to cut ceramic components for customer needs.
  • Loads or unloads material or work piece manually or with hoists into machinery.
  • Other related duties assigned

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent experience.
  • General manufacturing skills such as blueprint reading, intermediate math skills (measure in standard and metrics using various measuring devices such as calipers, measuring tapes, micrometers, measuring tools) and basic computers skills are required.
  • This position requires up to 3 months' work experience to become proficient in most phases of the job to work independently.

Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job within the manufacturing environment, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The Injection Molding Mold Maker is responsible for the fabrication, maintenance, repair, and modification of precision molds used in injection molding processes. This role requires high attention to detail, proficiency in mold tooling techniques, and experience with mold design prints. The Mold Maker will work closely with engineers, tool designers, and production teams to ensure molds meet quality and production standards.

  • Build new injection molds from blueprints, CAD files, and technical specifications.
  • Perform mold repairs, maintenance, and modifications as needed to support production requirements.
  • Use precision machining equipment including CNC mills, lathes, grinders to fabricate components.
  • Fit and assemble mold components with high precision and ensure proper functionality.
  • Inspect tooling components to verify conformance to dimensional specifications.
  • Polish and finish mold cavities, cores, and inserts to meet cosmetic and dimensional requirements.
  • Collaborate with process engineers and tool designers to troubleshoot and resolve mold-related issues.
  • Maintain proper documentation for tooling repairs, revisions, and maintenance logs.
  • Ensure mold components are produced and maintained with minimal downtime to production.
  • Support mold trials and validations in coordination with the production and quality teams.
  • Follow and enforce all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.

The Injection Molding Team Lead is responsible for overseeing day-to-day activities in the injection molding area to ensure production goals, quality standards, and safety protocols are met. Required Skills & Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED certificate required.

Master molding certification is required.

• 5+ years experience in injection molding plastics processing tooling and plastic material; prior experience in set-up and operation of injection molds and auxiliary equipment; Experience using inspection equipment and following quality procedures required.

• Engineering materials (PFA, FEP, PCDF) preferred.

CertainTeed Roofing R&D is seeking a driven, talented, and energetic experienced polymer research engineer to join the Polymer team. This position is part of the polymer material research group, focusing on providing innovative solutions to the polymer modified asphalt and polymer composite techniques for roofing applications. Main Responsibilities:

  • Manages projects from inception through scale-up. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver outcomes on schedules and within budget. Understands Gate Process methodology/ideology and utilizes and incorporates it in research projects.
  • Utilizes technical expertise in polymer chemistry, formulation, processing, and characterization, to enable new product development, improve performance, reduce costs, and support fundamental research.   • Coordinates with manufacturing facilities, builds relationships, and establishes support to execute projects in an industrial environment.
  • Communicate with people from a wide range of backgrounds (R&D, operation, finance, purchasing, and marketing) and utilize knowledge to advance projects and identify productive synergies.
  • Collaborates with Saint-Gobain North American Research & Development Center (SGR-NA), CertainTeed Roofing Engineering, and other R&D resources within Saint-Gobain to identify and develop practical concepts and solutions for roofing applications.
  • Develops and encourages innovation and Intellectual Property (IP) development and foster IP development through the patent process with legal support.

Essential Functions

  • Carries out major projects through to successful completion. Projects involve the extension of present or new technology in one or more areas, involving improvement and/or development of new formulations, processes, techniques, and fundamental knowledge. Projects are assigned by supervisor and are several months to years in duration.
  • Fabricates product prototypes and characterizes samples using various analytical techniques based on experiments designed by other engineers in the group in support of their projects.
  • Manufacturing and marketing support. May include pilot and production trials, and travel to manufacturing sites or customers for support.
  • Manages and documents projects effectively under minimal supervision by the direct manager. Includes the generation of project timelines/plans, technical memos, research reports, and presentations to internal customers, project teams, and/or management.

  • Lead 5S projects in the maintenance storeroom and enforce compliance with preventive maintenance practices of the spare parts and all storage locations.
  • Analyze MRP-driven demand to ensure optimal inventory levels and accurate parts fulfillment.
  • Oversee vendor-managed inventory (VMI) programs and procurement processes for storeroom materials.
  • Process MRO purchase orders with required documentation and maintain annual PO procedures.
  • Coordinate interplant transfers to optimize stock availability.
