What’s the job?

• Responsible for planning, evaluating, organizing and implementing automation related projects and initiatives. 
• Designing or developing new process control systems and revising/maintaining of existing processes; developing and implementing WCM projects; identifying new opportunities and solutions with cost / benefit analysis

What do you bring?

• Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering or similar discipline or equivalent experience. 
• Three to five (3-5) years of applied professional experience in Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) / PLC. 
• Previous experience in electrical process control, instrumentation, automation, industrial protocols / networking (switching & routing) and databases. 
• Understanding of integrated automation and information systems in a manufacturing environment. 
• Understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC) and Arc-Flash (NFPA-70E) code requirements. 

Pay Transparency 

Certain states require pay information be provided in job postings. The national pay range for this position is $79,500 to $123,500 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The total target cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $87,450 to $135,850.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

Reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Shift Technician is required to support the maintenance organization and process. This position will be working closely with other Maintenance Teams and Production personal to ensure the plant equipment performs to the need of the plant. The Maintenance Supervisor will define other duties and responsibilities.

*This is a night shift position.

NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION:

• Responsible for ensuring all plant equipment is maintained and reliable. Must ensure that the equipment is working properly, and it meets the needs of the dept.
• Responsible for the reactive maintenance requirements of all depts.
• Responsible for routine identification of equipment reliability issues and support action plans to correct.
• Develop critical spares lists and recommended stocking levels for equipment.
• Work closely with Maintenance Leadership to integrate preventive and predictive maintenance programs into the computerized maintenance management system.
• Required to participate in skills training improvement plans.
• Provide support to other departmental process improvement initiatives.
• Actively participate in departmental safety and housekeeping programs.
• Support changing work schedules to coincide with equipment availability, craft training and resource
• Responsible for daily forklift safety inspections and completion of checklist sheets
• Must demonstrate good housekeeping skills to assure a safe and hazard free work environment.
• Must have basic computer literacy to enter production data daily.
• Other accountabilities as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.

The Maintenance Shift Technician must have:

• Demonstrated mechanical or electrical knowledge.
• Knowledge of plant equipment operation and maintenance requirements.

Education and/or Experience: 5 years related industrial maintenance experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must have ability to operate electronic calculator to accomplish these tasks.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities:

Administration and Support of Local Resources:

• Provide comprehensive support, management, development, implementation, and troubleshooting for all local data rooms both remotely and on-site within the designated region.
• Perform tasks such as racking, stacking, and cabling of IT servers, storage, and associated equipment.
• Install, configure, and maintain various IT systems and technologies, including MS Windows workstations and servers, Red Hat Linux servers, storage appliances/SAN, VMware, VEEAM, Veritas NetBackup, Lansweeper, CyberX industrial network monitoring, Palo Alto firewall rulesets, and HP/Aruba switches.
• Utilize Service Now IT Service Management (ITSM) to track incidents through completion and documentation stages.
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents promptly, ensuring that managed infrastructure is consistently monitored for uptime, capacity, utilization, and proper handling of service requests, including major or minor changes, from recording to implementation.

Operations:

• Create, maintain, and delete Active Directory user accounts and relevant security groups.
• Monitor resource usage and address system performance issues and alerts proactively.
• Participate in the change management process, including planning, follow-up, and approval, as well as incident management, such as technical escalation and closure.
• Conduct routine disaster recovery testing to ensure system readiness and resilience.

Customer Relations:

• Offer innovative ideas to the business regarding industrial digital solutions by sharing knowledge and staying abreast of industry trends.
• Ensure alignment of customer needs with the strategy defined by DSI Group.
• Address service issues by thoroughly understanding the customer's complaint, identifying the root cause of the problem, and recommending the most suitable solution to resolve it.
• Expedite corrections or adjustments as necessary and ensure timely follow-up to confirm resolution.
• Adhere to established communication procedures, guidelines, and policies to ensure consistency and reliability

Manufacturing IT Infrastructure Management:

• Collaborate with local and regional management to design, procure, and implement IT systems tailored to the manufacturing network's needs.
• Ensure that the delivered infrastructure aligns with SGTS standards and complies with security requirements, including the 28 Minimum Security Rules for Industrial and Logistics Systems (28 MSRs).
• Oversee manufacturing IT assets throughout their entire lifecycle, from acquisition to disposal.
• Proactively manage upgrades and replacements of non-standard IT infrastructure hardware and operating systems to maintain optimal performance and compliance.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related field is mandatory.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in IT and/or technical manufacturing is essential.
• Prior experience in serving internal customers within a large, complex organization is required.
• Certification or equivalent experience in one or more of the following technologies is preferred: VMware, Switching/Routing/Firewall, IT Service Management (ITSM).
• Proficiency in these areas demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills necessary for the role.
• An in-depth understanding of manufacturing processes and technology is a prerequisite for this position.

Les responsabilités et les obligations redditionnelles du poste comprennent, sans s'y limiter :

• Choisir les produits Bailey en fonction des commandes des clients, et assembler et préparer les élévateurs nécessaires.
• Vérifiez les quantités et le type de produits à placer dans les palettes selon le ticket de cueillette.
• Marquer, estampiller, écrire les informations et les instructions d'expédition sur les palettes ou les chariots conformément aux exigences du client et aux normes de contrôle de la qualité.
• Effectuer des inspections quotidiennes des chariots élévateurs et de la machinerie au besoin.
• Faire fonctionner le moteur de remorquage en toute sécurité et aider au chargement des conteneurs.
• Coordonner et charger les camions à plateau et les camions-citernes.
• Utilisez l'équipement et les outils fournis en toute sécurité.
• Communiquez avec le répartiteur, le superviseur et le chauffeur pour comprendre les exigences de chargement et charger de manière sécuritaire, complète et précise. Vérifiez auprès du conducteur, après le chargement, tous les documents nécessaires et la sécurité du chargement.
• Examine tous les envois sortants et compare les articles avec les connaissements, les tickets de prélèvement, les factures, les commandes ou d'autres documents pour assurer l'exactitude des commandes et la sécurité du chargement.
• Collez les boîtes cassées, refaites ou réemballez les produits sous la direction du superviseur.
• Sert de guide lors de l'utilisation du moteur de remorquage pour éviter les accidents et les incidents.
• Sert et charge les commandes des clients rapidement. Doit être courtois envers les clients et les autres travailleurs.
• Participer à tous les types de formations (travail, qualité et sécurité) organisées par l'entreprise.
• Participer à l'inventaire trimestriel de l'entreprise.
• Signaler en temps opportun toutes les non-conformités en matière de sécurité et les problèmes de qualité.
• Exécuter toute autre tâche assignée par le superviseur ou la direction.

Qualifications et exigences :

• 1 à 2 ans d'expérience en entrepôt.
• Certificat de cariste/opérateur de chariot élévateur valide requis. 2 à 3 ans d'expérience en conduite de chariot élévateur.
• Une bonne connaissance des procédures de sécurité des chariots élévateurs est essentielle.
• Connaissance de l'équipement et des outils tels que le moteur de remorquage, la cercleuse, la station de ravitaillement en gaz naturel, la scie à tronçonner, l'échelle mobile, la radio bidirectionnelle, le ruban à mesurer, etc.
• Éthique, ouverture d'esprit, observateur, apprenant rapidement, esprit d'équipe, initiative et capacité à respecter les délais.
• Doit être capable de travailler dans des conditions météorologiques extrêmes (chaleur, froid, pluie et neige).

• Lead employee relations efforts by investigating workplace issues, mitigating risk, advising on HR matters, guiding disciplinary actions, fostering employee engagement, and supporting policy development to ensure compliance and alignment with company values.
• Responsible for managing the full-cycle recruitment process, including job requisitions, interviewing, compensation analysis, and onboarding, while partnering with Plant Management to maintain up-to-date job descriptions and ensure equitable salary recommendations.
• Oversee non-exempt payroll, ensure HR policy compliance through audits, manage employee data changes, and maintain accurate, up-to-date HRIS records for hourly employees.
• Manage employee benefits support and communications, coordinate leave of absence processes and benefit programs, and collaborate with vendors and leadership on annual enrollment, bonus, and merit cycles to ensure smooth administration and employee understanding.
• Evaluate and enhance training programs in collaboration with HR and Plant Leadership, ensure compliance with safety and OSHA requirements, and manage training documentation and reporting for corporate and compliance purposes.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

• A bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field is required 
• Bilingual English and Spanish is preferred.
• Three to five years of experience as an HR Generalist or a similar role is required
• Certification in HR (SHRM-CP, PHR, etc.) strongly preferred
• Comprehensive understanding of employment legislation and regulations.
• Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office applications

What’s the job?

CertainTeed is hiring a Maintenance Electrician!

In alignment with the company vision, mission, values, and objectives, the technician will troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and improve electrical systems with the intent of improving uptime and efficiency. Know, understand, and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of safe operating procedures, including housekeeping requirements.

Day Shift: 12 Hour rotating shift: 7am-7pm (3 days one week, 4 days the next)

Compensation: $31.80 to - $39.00 per hour

Primary Duties:

• Work with industrial controls, limit switches, prox switches, and photocells
• Work with analog controls such as level sensors, load cells, and pressure sensors
• Will be expected to install conduit and basic circuits
• Will perform basic fabrication
• Replaces and repairs electrical equipment/components 110 & 240 volts 3 phase and low voltage motor controls
• Review all required schematics, blueprints, drawings, and work orders to install, troubleshoot, and repair desired products, parts, or system
• Checks, collects, and organizes all parts and tools prior to starting a job or assigned task
• Understand Pedestrian & Mobile Equipment safety in the work area
• Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner
• Understand Plant & Distribution Safety Rules
• Able to understand and apply all safety procedures
• Understand and follow all SOPs related to electrical maintenance
• Understand NFPA 70E standards for electrical safety
• Understand all Plant emergency situations & procedures
• Complete Employee Safety Orientation & all safety training programs
• Report all safety incidents to Team or Group Leaders
• Proper use of necessary PPE required in the Plant work areas
• Complete as instructed all other job assignments that are issued by the maintenance Team Leader
• Ability to work independently
• Must be able to read, interpret, draw materials, and build projects from blueprints with limited supervision producing first-time quality results
• Ability to do other general building support including minor electrical, plastic, and metal pipe fabrication
• Ability to perform tasks on plant equipment and systems with minimal supervision and a high level of reliability
• Must be able to figure, layout, cut, and fit complex parts and shapes using blueprints, existing structures, and template materials

Physical Demands:

• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including hearing protection, steel toe shoes, safety glasses, and hard hats
• Ability to lift, pull, push, and carry up to 50 pounds (List only physical requirements that are essential to the position and/or cannot be easily accommodated.)

Working Conditions:

• Ability to work 12-hour shift
• Ability to demonstrate acceptable attendance and workdays, nights, or weekends as scheduled

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

• Minimum of 3-5 years of industrial electrical or mechanical maintenance experience in a continuous process (Required)
• High school or equivalent (Required)
• Excellent team working skills
• Experience with PLC controllers and ability to use a computer for troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with function block diagram logic
• Experience with 4160V or 13KV a plus
• Demonstrated experience with electronic control systems, troubleshooting using control logic schematics, measurement instrumentation, PLCs, and O&M manuals a plus
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems
• Experience with the following mechanical systems: Hydraulics, ventilation/air intakes, acoustical insulation, engine installs, shafts and propellers, fuel systems, engine controls, wet exhaust, cooling, steering (power/manual), fire/bilge system, fire extinguisher system, gen-set installation, wipers, freshwater system, head and waste system, HVAC, mooring gear, labels and graphics, emergency equipment, electronic equipment
• Basic knowledge of the safe and proper use of shop tools, metal stud framing, drywall, painting, floor repair, concrete repair

The primary function of the Electronic Technician (ET) is to bridge the gap between the plants Industrial Electricians and Engineering staff by providing electrical/electronic troubleshooting support and the preventative/predictive maintenance of electrical & electronic equipment at the state-of-the-art Glass Mat facility in Oxford, NC.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:   

• Responsible for the troubleshooting of PLC’s related to safety, automation, and control systems.
• Conduct troubleshooting and calibration of thermocouples, RTD’s, level sensing devices, thickness detectors, consistency transmitters, load cells and other electrical/electronic devices.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, testing and troubleshooting of VFD’s (Variable Frequency Drives)
• Provide support to the Engineering department on new installations of electronic control equipment.
• Assist the electrical department as needed in troubleshooting of plant equipment, machinery, utilities, and safety systems.
• Assist management in root-cause analysis on losses related to electrical/electronic failures.
• To closely work with the other Maintenance department crafts to support initiatives that improves equipment reliability.
• Manage electrical parts inventory
• Participation and completion of required Environmental, Health and Safety training. Responsible for performing SMAT observations and other audit programs, cleaning, painting, and maintaining 5S system.
• Ensure adherence to waste management and recycling responsibilities.
• Participate in Incident & Near Miss Investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions.
• Participate in the development, understanding and review of related Job Safety Analysis and/or Standard Operating Procedures.
• Communicates and logs daily activities to oncoming shift to verify effective handoff of information.
• Participate in Maintenance driven projects (i.e., small-scale electrical, MOC)
• Perform various administrative tasks which include, but are not limited to, email correspondence, purchase requisitions, completion of expenses reports, and invoice verification
• Further develop skill set of crew electricians.
• Perform Training Activities (i.e., LOTO training, electrical tech training, and PLC training
• Travelling may be required (up to 30%) for learning purposes. After the site is complete, significantly less travel is required.
• May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

• Minimum of 2- year degree in Electrical/Electronic discipline and/or prior experience in a continuous manufacturing environment
• Thorough knowledge of AC/DC drive systems, Power distribution systems including switch gear components, Servo Motor Equipment and programming, Ethernet Networking systems, HMI and PLC Programming / Troubleshooting, Electrical & Electronic systems integration, Electro-Mechanical design and troubleshooting
• Keen knowledge of Lockout Tagout policies and procedures
• Score the minimum score established by the company on a role specific assessment
• Complete Annual CPR recertification
• Good working knowledge of mechanical equipment and systems operations.
• Familiarity with MS Office applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
