The assembler is responsible producing quality products to specifications of customers as defined on the product prints and routers. Full participation in activities in the clean room (assembly, heat sealing, cleaning, packing, etc.) to achieve on-time shipment goals and efficiency targets.

• 8 Hour Shifts: Sunday - Thursday

• 3rd Shift - 10:00pm - 6:30am

The assembler is responsible producing quality products to specifications of customers as defined on the product prints and routers. Full participation in activities in the clean room (assembly, heat sealing, cleaning, packing, etc.) to achieve on-time shipment goals and efficiency targets.

 

Essential Functions:

• Read product prints and specifications prior to starting assembly process.

• Follow assembly procedures.

• Fill out all paperwork documenting steps performed, quantities, and quality checks performed.

• Collect components for assembly ensuring lot number traceability.

• Clean components and assemblies with alcohol (IPA).

• Package assemblies in plastic bags and heat seal.

• Perform other related tasks, including but not limited to, performing housekeeping tasks required to keep work areas clean and organized.

• Observe all safety rules and regulations including the wearing of protective equipment when required. Report any accidents and unsafe conditions to management.

• Replenish supplies.

• Must be available for overtime work when necessary.

• Maintain and practice manufacturing procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

High School diploma or general education degree (GED) - Preferred

Efficient and willingness to perform required work with good attendance and attitude.

Understand SOP's relating to the department activities. Good analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills. Must be a team player.

Effective communication skills essential - both written and verbal

​PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Requires walking, primarily on a level surface throughout the day. May need to climb stairs/steps periodically. May need to stoop or kneel and reach above shoulder heights, below the waist. Lifting as required with proper lifting techniques up to 50 pounds on occasion.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position is in a clean room environment where the use of personal protective equipment such as hearing protection, safety glasses, and safety shoes are mandated. Noise levels and temperatures may vary due to areas accessed. There is some exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals such as alcohol.

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

In this role the Mixer sets up and operates highly automated computer controlled manufacturing equipment for the production, testing or finishing of organic bonded grinding wheels by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Works at different work stations as production needs require at Making or Finishing within short notice.

Able to work overtime as required and be flexible with assigned or rotating shifts (1st, 2nd, 3rd) and hours (8, 10, 12 hrs.) when needed.

Able to perform operator preventive maintenance as assigned in monthly schedule.

Performs first level autonomous maintenance on machinery, with the goal of maximizing machine performance.

Able to perform a major dimensional change over when needed.

Able to interact with a PLC computer screen to diagnose press conditions.

Able to perform minor press repairs as needed throughout the shift.

Able to be a line leader that gathers data, inputs it into a spreadsheet and presents daily at group toolbox meetings.

Able to perform operator preventive maintenance based on a monthly schedule.

Flags and recommends repairs to existing worn out parts in need of repair to the maintenance group.

Performs first level maintenance on machinery, with the goal of maximizing machine performance.

Ensures product is within engineered control limits and specifications by making adjustments as needed.

Following the manufacturing order, mix slip requisitions, and associated mini charts, accurately obtains the many sub components necessary to process the order.

Able to introduce all components needed such as glass, bushing, mix and mold on blotters to mold a grinding wheel.

Able to work as a team as well as unsupervised. This requires group problem solving, effective hearing, and effective speaking capabilities. Must have personal initiative and ability to make decisions.

Able to introduce all components needed such as glass, bushing, mix and mold on blotters to mold a grinding wheel.

Able to complete hourly reports in order to keep track of press performance and provide data to team leader.

Processes abrasive wheels of various sizes while recording productivity, and maximizing machine efficiency while performing minor maintenance and tooling functions.

Comply with ISO Quality Policies as it pertains to the company and job.

Performs machine set up, first piece inspection, reports major problems to supervisory personnel, and assists maintenance when repairs are necessary by operating the machine as indicated.

Able to adjust machine parameters to achieve weight, thickness and balance of abrasive wheels while ensuring product is within engineered control limits and specifications by making adjustments as needed.

Able to plot daily SPC on a written form or in Windows SPC computer program.

Also required to analyze SPC graphs and react to quality specification trends, while maintaining process control limits.

Inspects sub component materials against the bill of material for conformance of standard.

Reports amount of good wheels produced as well as product waste against proper waste codes.

Able to participate in WCM continuous improvement projects to improve safety, quality and efficiency.

Reduce waste at the source by observing and understanding potential causes of waste streams in the work area.

Responsible for maintaining the workstation per 5S guidelines, which includes maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Complies with Company policies (Safety, Documented Procedure, etc.).

Places waste in appropriate designated labeled containers and makes sure lids are properly closed after disposal of waste. Examples of waste are: Contaminated rags, empty aerosol cans, defective lime, etc.

Reports abnormal conditions, such as overflowing barrels and missing identification to supervisor in charge.

Performs SMAT audits when required thought out the year.

Performs “One Minute to Think” before starting any assigned job.

Able to read PPE assessment forms and comply with PPE requirements.

Brings to management’s attention any Environmental, Health and Safety alerts throughout the year by submitting a safety alert form.

Accounting & Reporting Business Partner

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

The Accounting and Reporting Business Partner will serve as the primary business contact or Business Partner for several business units who are internal customers of the Shared Service Center (SSC).

  • Business and SSC Liaison – The Business Partner acts as a vital link between Shared Service Center (SSC) capabilities and its business objectives. Advisor leverages their business, financial, and technical knowledge to peer lead cross-functional teams in the delivery of improved business outcomes.
  • Customer Service – As liaisons between the business community, Service Provider and SSC solution groups, the Business Partner ensures that business challenges are properly articulated before a financial solution is designed and implemented. The Business Partner leverages their business and financial skills, participating in and leading peer groups to create solutions meeting complex product and process challenges. Engages with the Financial Directors (FD) of the Business Unit’s (Internal Customers) to ensure quality of service by establishing and complying with MSA and SOW; measure service performance with KPI’s; and communicate by chairing monthly customer meetings. Proactively seek opportunities to improve service delivery to their customers.
  • Support month-end close – Support an accurate and timely monthly close is completed for several Internal Customers in accordance with a closing schedule and Saint-Gobain reporting deadlines. Responsible to maintain closing schedules and keep current. Review and approve journal entries emphasizing accuracy and control; manage complex intercompany relationships; and review multiple tax provisions for various general ledgers.
  • Financial reporting - Support the preparation of a complex set of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for several Internal customers, delivering accurate and timely results to the FD’s. Provide control lists of management reports and analyses to Service Provider.
  • Account analysis and reconciliation – Review / approve balance sheet accounts reconciled by Service Provider ensuring balance sheet accounts are properly justified.; monitor and analyse general ledger activity for several Internal Customers.
  • Business compliance internal controls – Within the Internal Controls Reference Framework (ICRF), review internal controls, assess compliance, and remediate compliance gaps working with Service Provider and SSC where necessary; improve accounting processes and internal controls with a focus on continuous improvement initiatives within the general accounting area and across the SSC as a whole. Collaborate with Service Provider to implement solutions

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Accounting or related field preferred. 
  • Professional certification (CPA, CMA) a plus.
  • 10-12 years General Ledger experience required, familiarity with a complex international business preferred.
  • QAD experience/knowledge a plus.
  • Proven results with structured problem solving and continuous improvement, applying Process Excellence/Six Sigma are highly valued.
  • Strong knowledge of and practical experience with internal controls.  Solid technical accounting and financial reporting experience, particularly U.S. GAAP required.  Experience with IFRS accounting principles a plus.
  • Experience working with and co-leading outsourced service provider in providing accounting services to internal business customers is a plus.
  • Experience with integrated ERP and financial reporting systems required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Experience in coaching outsourced team members, managing cross company, geography, time zone, and culture. Ability to understand cultural differences.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain business relationships outside of functional area.

Mixer Operator

In this position, employees will work in a variety of positions on the finishing line producing joint compound.

The Floater- Mixer 3 will be expected to gain competency in a new position every 6 months until competency is achieved in ALL of the 6 positions: Mixer operator, Line Lead, Calcine operator, Knife operator, Paper operator and SFX operator. These are the only positions included in this pay progression.

In this position you will have been trained for three jobs with mixer being your top job.
An operator must know ONE of the above jobs and provide a completely signed off Training Sheet as evidence of competency. Operators will be grandfathered based on the shift 3x3x3 matrices approved by Shift Supervisors as of October 15, 2023.

Principales responsabilités :

Gérer efficacement les fonctions de comptabilité financière et fiscale, y compris :

  • Effectuer des revues et analyses financières mensuelles;

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

Performs a variety of administrative functions in support of the Warehouse & Logistics Manager and plant staff and to coordinate various financial, inventory management, and administrative functions with Payroll/HR, Financial Shared Services, and Gypsum Corporate Office

  • Provides administrative support to the plant resources, including 3rd party vendors, through assigned duties, backup functions, meetings, presentations, audit compliance, and a variety of complex and confidential weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for departments and corporate resources as requested

  • Follow-up and expedite required resolution with vendors, plant personnel, and Accounts Payable
    • Route invoices to other approvers as required.
    • ="auto">Invoice reconciliation and GL coding of non-PO invoices
    • Identify and systematically resolve root causes of invoice inconsistencies
  • Handles SAP transactions related to the reconciliation of vendor returns, and receipt corrections
  • Process any general site purchases in Agora (office supplies, generic consumables) and submit the associated expense reports
  • Performs Payroll Administrator backup duties including organizing relevant payroll/HR documents

Assistant Warehouse Manager

The Assistant Warehouse Manager is responsible for ensuring daily efficient, accurate, and timely warehouse operations, including but not limited to: workers' safety, receiving, storage, order picking, shipping, inventory management, and warehouse facility (space) management.

The Assistant Warehouse Manager is the primary managerial contact, and sets the tone of conduct regarding employee’s attitude toward their work. The Assistant Warehouse Manager will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

The Assistant Warehouse Manager is also the tactical administrator of the warehouse facility. This work includes organizing, scheduling, and dispatching work assignments, staging space, and dock facilities to maximize efficient material flow.

Essential Duties Include:

• Adherence to Safety – Support a safe working environment in area of responsibility at all times. Correct or report unsafe acts or conditions through appropriate channels of resolution. Perform accident investigations, complete required paperwork, and perform necessary follow-up as required.

• Supervision and Administration – Implement proper scheduling and utilization of people to result in optimum productivity (e.g., sensible use of overtime). Provide regular feedback, including discipline and documentation where appropriate, of individual and group performance.

• Planning – Balance the resources of warehouse space, equipment and time with customer demand. This includes pick location and storage zone profiling, yard management and identification of equipment and labor requirements in advance of their actual need.

• Inventory Management – Maintain ownership of the plant's finished goods inventory investment. Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all inventory balances and data records, reconciling SAP as needed. Actively train and counsel employees when necessary to properly record inventory transactions. Administer the cycle count program and investigate discrepancies and errors.

• Continuous Improvement – Serve on and lead employee project teams within the plant and at times, with sister plants, to educate and train employee personal skills along with those of the warehouse employees. Areas of process improvement opportunity include shipment accuracy, warehouse damage, and picking efficiency.

• Other duties as assigned.

 

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

• Bachelor in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or similar preferred

• 3+ years of warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment required. Supervisory experience strongly preferred.

• Strong SAP and inventory management experience required
