The Technical Sales Manager will develop, manage & grow a $7-12 million portfolio for Saint-Gobain’s market leading brands, NORGLIDE® Bearings, RENCOL® Tolerance Rings and our latest innovation SPRINGLIDE™ Energized Bearings.
While collaborating with a well-tenured Sales & Business Development Team, the incumbent will partner with high volume, international Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Tier One suppliers, & their respective engineering teams, to develop custom designed component solutions for use in a range of applications for customers in the most demanding industries, including Automotive, HVAC, Bicycle and Electronics. Current areas of emphasis include mechanisms, seating, steering, and powertrain.
This role requires a self-motivated and self-directed individual.
IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline required
- 10+ years experience in Automotive sales, OEM, Tier 1, Tier 2 Supplier
- Must be able to read blueprints and interface with engineers on technical aspects of application.
- Proven relationship building skills and commercial awareness, to understand the customer's business needs and identify plans to deliver them
TO MAKE SURE NOTHING IS FORGOTTEN
Responsibilities include:
- Working with customer technical personnel/engineers to establish product performance criteria and provide initial design concepts to solve customer issues. Manage all commercial aspects of the accounts including price negotiation, contracts, price increases, and profitability.
- Prospect targeted industries for new Norglide, Rencol and SprinGlide applications. Work closely with overseas colleagues to coordinate worldwide projects and customers
- Working with OEM engineering to get Norglide, Rencol and SprinGlide products specified. Develop and grow key customer relationships to maximize customer potential.
- Coordinate communication between Saint-Gobain and customer engineering to see projects evolve into new business.
- Work effectively with all internal departments and personnel and participate in relevant internal/external sales meetings and training programs.
- Report on all competitor activities and other market intelligence
