Quality and Process Control Manager

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

The Quality Manager leads the plant's Quality Control and Quality Assurance programs, executing robust quality systems, data_driven process controls, and continuous improvement practices to ensure defect reduction, process stability, customer satisfaction, and sustained operational performance. Drive capability to design, develop, and implement robust process controls.

The Quality Manager leads the integration of quality and process control systems at the Mankato facility for RISE Siding and Trim. This role is accountable for building a high-performing team, deploying CertainTeed's Quality Management System (QMS), and ensuring stable, capable processes that consistently deliver high-quality, sustainable building products.


A critical component of this role is establishing robust process risk management and control strategies, including ownership of PFMEA, Control Plans, and NPD quality integration in managing variability from recycled composite materials. Developing and advancing Quality & Process Control roadmap.

Essential Functions:


1. Lead Integrated Quality & Process Control Organization

  • Build, lead, and develop a unified team of Quality Technicians and Process Technicians
  • Establish clear roles, standard work, and accountability across both functions
  • Implement daily management systems (tier meetings, KPI tracking, escalation)
  • Drive a culture of quality at the source and strong process ownership
  • Support capacity expansion and growth initiatives with strong Quality & Process discipline

    2. Deploy & Sustain Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Implement and standardize CertainTeed QMS at the plant level
  • Ensure robust controls across:
  •  Incoming raw materials (recycled fibers, additives)
  • In-process parameters (forming, curing, finishing)
  • Final product validation and testing
  • Lead internal/external audits and enforce disciplined CAPA processes
  • Ensure documentation and system alignment across production, engineering, and quality

    3. Own Process Control Strategy, PFMEA & Control Plans
  • Lead development and sustainment of:
  • Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
  • Control Plans aligned to critical process characteristics
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, and R&D to: Identify and mitigate process risks. Translate PFMEA outputs into actionable controls and reaction plans
  • Ensure control plans are actively used on the floor (not static documents)
  • Drive continuous updates based on process changes, defects, and learnings

    4. Drive Process Stability & Manufacturing Performance
  • Own process control systems using: Statistical Process Control (SPC), Process capability (Cp/Cpk) improvement
  • Reduce variation in composite formulations and manufacturing processes
  • Improve: Yield and throughput, Scrap and rework, Process consistency and reliability
  • Partner with Engineering on long-term process capability improvements

    5. Drive Process Stability & Manufacturing Performance
  • Lead structured problem solving (DMAIC, 8D) for chronic and acute issues
  • Reduce customer complaints and internal defects
  • Translate field performance into process and product improvements
  • Establish and manage KPIs: First Pass Yield (FPY) Scrap rate, Customer claims (Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)); lead quality and process control integration for New Product Development (NPD)

Work Experience:

  • 5+ years as part of a quality manufacturing organization Required
  • 2+ years managing, growing and developing direct reports Required
  • 2 - 3 years experience utilizing SPC data sets to create control charts, CPK adjustments, and improvement projects within manufacturing environment :Preferred

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 13 % of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $115,260 to  $178,540.00 Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.

Maintenance Supervisor

We are looking for a highly motivated and proactive Maintenance Supervisor to lead our maintenance operations in a manufacturing environment specializing in plastic extrusion equipment. This position plays a critical role in driving plant reliability by reducing downtime, improving machine availability, and ensuring high operational standards. The person will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and directing maintenance activities, as well as ensuring that equipment and systems are functioning correctly and safely.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs for extrusion lines and support equipment.
  • Supervise daily activities of the maintenance team to ensure efficient task execution and minimal machine downtime.
  • Lead emergency repair response efforts with a sense of urgency and problem-solving mindset.
  • Monitor equipment health, identify risks, and take initiative to address underlying issues before they become failures.
  • Use historical maintenance records to drive reliability improvements and root cause elimination.
  • Support and contribute to CAPEX projects, including new equipment commissioning and upgrades to existing systems.
  • Build and maintain an organized inventory system for critical spares and components, ensuring availability without overstocking.
  • Work with procurement and vendors to source high-quality parts and ensure competitive pricing and delivery timelines.
  • Manage service agreements for chillers, compressors, and other utility systems.
  • Coordinate external service providers, ensuring high-quality work and compliance with safety and performance standards.
  • Promote and ensure adherence to health and safety practices, collaborating with HSE and production to create a safe work environment.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with CSA/OSHA standards and internal procedures.
  • Discipline and provide training of maintenance personnel.
  • May request purchase of material or service by submitting RFQ to Plant Manager.
  • Ability to lock out or tag out equipment.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Post-secondary diploma/degree in Engineering (electrical preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • Candidate must hold a trades ticket
  • Five (5) years of management/supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably extrusion) or the ability to manage personnel in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with electrical DC and AC drives and motors.
  • Experience with implementation and management of preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Hands-on experience with extrusion, injection molding, and support systems (e.g., temperature control units, chillers, air compressors)
  • Familiarity with lean maintenance practices, TPM, and 5S principles is a strong asset
  • Strong oral, reading, and written communication skills to communicate with other supervisors, team members, and contractors.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency with administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office.

Working conditions

  • Required to work during scheduled shutdowns, and as necessary, overtime, and call-ins to accommodate the maintenance of equipment.
  • Safety glasses and boots are required throughout the plant; PPE as required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

This role is responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient delivery of CHRYSO admixture products to customers across North Texas and surrounding regions. The successful candidate will handle the transfer of liquid products from Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs) into customer storage tanks, ensuring accuracy and safety throughout the process. In addition to driving and delivery responsibilities, this position may also support logistics operations at the plant and assist with general plant operator duties as needed.

 

Schedule: Full time

Shift: 1st- Day (with a periodic need for an evening or weekend day haul)

Travel: 100% of time; local travel

 

Interfaces and Responsibilities:

This position will interact regularly with internal stakeholders including Load Planner, plant personnel, and other members of the CHRYSO team. It requires close collaboration across the organization in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. External interactions will primarily involve customers receiving our products, emphasizing professionalism and customer service.

 

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform daily Pre/Post trip inspection on vehicle before driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, and damage to the vehicle
  • Maintain DOT driving logs including; working hours and vehicle/repair status
  • Manoeuvre trucks and trailers into loading or unloading positions, following signals from the loading crew, if applicable
  • Verify vehicle position is correct and that any special loading equipment is properly positioned
  • Safely load and unload all equipment including but not limited to; pallet racking, shelving, totes/chemicals etc.
  • Secure load for safe transfer
  • Obtain required signatures for all loads picked-up and delivered
  • Verify amount of equipment with the driver/customer/manufacturer before departing from the location
  • Effectively communicate and interface with the customer
  • Report all issues (delivery, equipment, or customer) that arise to your manager
  • Will fulfil the role of production operator during slow times.

About the Role

The Technical Sales Representative (TSR) is responsible for driving sales growth with new and existing customers across the Atlantic Canada ( New bruswick and Nova Scotia).
