Job Summary

The Material Handler is responsible for maintaining inventory and facilitating shipping needs for all products and materials to include issuing materials to manufacturing (kitting components) for orders to be completed prior to shipping; for our manufacturing facilities in Clearwater and Largo Florida for Saint-Gobain Life Sciences.

Essential Functions

  • Store materials using assigned protocols with correct equipment.
  • Perform inventory transactions in QAD system
  • Recommend measures to improve methods and quality of product.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems, or assess workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiate and support housekeeping and safety activities within the facility daily.
  • Communicate with the other shifts the status of parts, equipment and any other matters that potentially impact the product being shipped.
  • Coordinate department's activities with other departments.
  • Verify all forms and paperwork as needed, including manufacturing forms, work order documentation, stock movement tickets, scrap tickets, identifications tag, QA forms via electronic document storage, etc.
  • Schedule trucks for delivery and pick up of product as required for on-time expediting.
  • Be proactive in assuring all shipments are shipped on time & resolving issues.
  • Load and/or unload trucks. Subject to driving company vehicle(s) as required.
  • Research and audit inventory by conducting daily cycle counts.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must demonstrate the ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions.

Must be able to properly fill out time reporting and work order documentation.

Must become forklift certified.

Lifting as required with proper lifting techniques up to 50 pounds on occasion.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position is in a production environment where the use of personal protective equipment such as hearing protection, safety glasses, and safety shoes are mandated. Noise levels are generally loud and temperatures may vary. There is some exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals, depending on areas accessed.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

EHS Coordinator

Technical Sales Representative

  • 5+ years of experience in a Sales or operational role in construction and concrete

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Recent bachelor’s degree in Concrete Industry Management (CIM), Construction Science Management/Construction Management

STEPS TO JOIN US

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the national pay range for this position which is $80,000 to $110,000 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus and quarterly sales incentive payments. The targeted annual bonus amount is 5% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $84,000 to $115,500. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.

Summary
Under the direction of the Shift Supervisor, the person will primarily be responsible for building skids and crates in the woodshop, helping with crating and packaging of product, and assisting the loading crew or production team as required. Job Duties

  • Ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency;
  • Ensure proper use of required personal protective equipment at all times, including the use of dual hearing protection when working in the woodshop area;
  • Safely operate nail guns and saws in a responsible manner;
  • Safely operate the cardboard and plastic wrapping machines;
  • When packaging product, ensure that bundles are 50lbs or less in order to ensure that drivers can lift the bundles independently when delivering to customers;
  • Ensure that customer packaging requests are followed;
  • Build skids and crates;
  • Maintain the inventory of required stock skids;
  • Plan for larger orders and ensure that crates are ready as required;
  • Operate the forklift for the purpose of moving material throughout the facility;
  • Rotate through various jobs and processes in order to suit the needs of the business;
  • Assist the loading crew with picking trim and blocking trailers for the loading crew;
  • Assist with picking fasteners/plastics as required;
  • Provide assistance at the press brakes or shears on request;
  • Communicate with supervisor, lead hands, and other shop personnel for assignments;
  • Mark, record, and report defective products;
  • Maintain a clean working area free from dirt and debris between tasks and at end of day;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

Under the guidance of the Shift Supervisor and/or Line Lead, the Relief Operator position is accountable for performing required tasks necessary to meet production goals on a production line in a team oriented environment. This is done with an emphasis on the following:

Essential Functions:

  • Follow all safety rules and rules as established in employee handbook
  • Follow standard operating procedures
  • Maintain good housekeeping as established by Relief Duty Sheets and identifies gaps and areas for improvement
  • Responsible for rotating in the feeding, stacking, and offloading positions, maintaining rate as defined in the recipe
  • Monitor the machine while the Machine Operators break, following the defined SOPs
  • Set up production equipment following established equipment settings
  • Maintain quality of product on production line by ensuring standards are being followed
  • Continually monitor product, to detect and resolve issues utilizing Continuous Improvement tools
  • Track and/or fill out metrics required to accurately close out production work orders

The Quality Inspection Lead ensures that all inspection support: compare measurements, form, fit, function, and value judgments of simple and complex parts to drawings/specifications and general workmanship standards using documents, experience, and knowledge of inspection techniques of SG Performance Life Sciences are being met on their assigned shift. They are responsible for ensuring Good Documentation Practices are utilized throughout all quality records that are reviewed/completed/inspected/audited. Responsible for work order review and batch order closure. They are considered a SME in inspection and ensure that all training on their assigned team are met. This individual will be responsible for the initiation of NMR’s, communicating NMR resolutions, and shift prioritization.

Essential Functions: Compare purchased, first piece, in process, and finished goods to established drawings/specifications/workmanship standards; reports non-conformances to Coordinator/Supervisor/Manager.

  • Help to investigate scope of the nonconformance and forward details to Coordinator/Supervisor/Manager for disposition.
  • Assist in orientation of new technicians and inspection processes, as necessary.
  • Review and Manage (move tickets) inventory and search for discrepancies that may negatively affect the quality of products.
  • Perform environmental monitoring activities as required by policy.
  • Releases and certifies approved/inspected product
  • Assists in Training Quality Inspector I’s
  • Lead and/or Assist in ensuring proper completion of Environmental Monitoring activities.
  • Assist in the inspection, investigation, disposition of Nonconforming Material Reports (NMR); forward to NMR coordinator and/or Quality Manager for final disposition.
  • Participates in Continuous Improvement/WCM projects.
  • Participate in the construction and/or revision of SOPs.
  • Initiate the NMRs Daily in ETQ and add in the Log.
  • Will be responsible to create IMT once NMR is dispositioned.
  • Will be a liaison between the NMR disposition Via Email and the production operators to make them aware of the dispositions.
  • Ensure proper Document flow of Work Order Packets within the 3 focus factories.
  • Assign Quality Inspectors to areas for each shift to ensure coverage and prioritization needs are met.
  • Maintain proper level of supplies (office and inspection) to prevent depletion. This includes reordering tasks.
  • Carry out formulated plans, policies and procedures of the department per regulations.
  • Communicate with employee's any instructions or requirements as deemed necessary by the Quality Manager.
  • Must be available for shift work, when necessary.
  • Be willing to participate in training that may be conducted off-site.
  • Report safety hazards observed to EHS Coordinator.
  • Perform stock audits and other related duties as may be required and regularly perform 5S activities which involves the cleanliness, organization, and standardization of work area.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience:

5 years of direct and relevant manufacturing procurement experience and understanding of technical instructions.

Required Qualifications:

Previous experience as a Quality Inspector at Saint-Gobain

Ability to follow/interpret verbal, written, oral, diagram and/or schedule form instructions

Ability to read reports and generate reports on productivity and efficiency

Ability to be highly attentive to detail and consistency

Physical Demands:

Requires walking, primarily on a level surface throughout the day. May need to climb stairs/steps periodically. May need to reach above shoulder heights and below the waist. Lifting as required with proper lifting techniques up to 40 pounds on occasion. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision.

Working Conditions:

This position is in a clean room and office environment where the use of personal protective equipment such as hearing protection, safety glasses, and safety shoes are mandated. Noise levels and temperatures may vary due to areas accessed. There is some exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals such as alcohol.

Summary and Principal Area of Responsibility:

Effectively plans and implements work for assigned production area(s) ensuring parts or materials and manpower are available for the shop to perform the work. This position is responsible for the planning and scheduling of activities for all raw materials and production for the product lines assigned in the Hoosick Falls plants.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes the following; other duties may be assigned):

  • Use MRP and other inputs to create schedules.
  • Release materials requirements to suppliers in support of schedules.
  • Adjust plant and supplier schedules as necessary due to shifts in demand or customer requirements.
  • Conducts capacity analyses by specific work center/machine to determine the need for additional tools/capital equipment. Ensures capacity plan is followed. Troubleshoots potential capacity issues on an ongoing basis.
  • Work closely with Group Leaders to execute schedules and ensure schedule compliance.
  • Work closely with customer support to ensure correct interpretation of customer requirements.
  • Develop inventory reduction plans and activities that drive plant inventories to targeted levels.
  • Participate directly in plant physical inventories/cycle count activities.
  • Work on projects with suppliers to improve material services or reduce inventories.
  • Visit suppliers with Purchasing team members as needed to communicate forecasted requirements or contribute to supplier/partnership activities.
  • Involved in plant capacity management review and action plans.
  • Monitors and takes action to improve delivery performance.
  • Performs shop floor inventory and work order transactions.
  • Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business with a specialization in the area or production/operations management preferred.  Equivalent combination of training and work experience may substitute for degree.  APICS certification desired.

 Work Experience:

Working knowledge of all aspects of the flow of material through the plant operations.  Knowledge of MRP II business systems and forecasting techniques.  Knowledge of manufacturing, quality control, and planning processes. Lean manufacturing experience desired.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs
  • Working knowledge of QAD desired
  • Must be a dedicated, self-starter with a high degree of motivation

Estimated starting salary for this position is $28.00 to $32.00 per hour for external applicants. In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 10% of hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
