WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

The Production Machinist III position sets-up and operates a variety of machine tools to fit and/or assemble parts to machine given jobs. Operates conventional and/or computerized numerical control machines to perform grinding operations, and make straightforward, repetitive adjustments to components. This position is also responsible to set-up and operate assorted conventional/computerized shop machining equipment to produce, grind, mill, plane, shape, groove, cut, or profile various types of wheels/parts to specifications.

What you will be doing in this role:

· Must be able to work in a self- inspection environment and be able to meet demands of common LEAN/WCM practices such as data

collection, meeting daily output goals, and 5S standards.

· Must be able to machine various raw and partially finished materials and products, (i.e., metals, resin, aluminum, steels, alloys, and

other composite materials/systems and diamond wheels and hold tolerances of .0005” or less.

· Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, program readouts, and technical directives to determine and obtain materials and

cutting tools for the job and to visualize the finished part and critical surfaces, dimensions, and tolerances.

· High level of problem solving and decision making ability.

· Must know, understand and follow common machine shop safety practices as well as those outlined by SGA.

· Able to handle multiple and diverse tasks with minimum or no supervision: willingness to be flexible with job responsibilities andworking hours.

· Practice safe work habits, maintain equipment and work areas in a 5S environment.

· Ability to work effectively with others in a team environment is required.

· Able to read and understand verbal and written instructions and possess good communication skills.

· Supports World Class Manufacturing activities including autonomous work teams.

· Must be able to determine appropriate set-ups and operation parameters (speeds, feeds, etc.) based on the type of material to be

machined and the tolerances desired: and maintain dimensions and tolerances to meet job specifications.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

Requirements:

  • HS diploma or GED and a minimum of 2 years machining experience and/or training preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic trade mathematics, computer skills, and ability to read blueprints and understanding of machinist handbook.
  • Technical school training, apprenticeship program or equivalent work experience operating CNC machines and other metal fabricating machines may be required.

Physical Demands/Efforts

  • Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
  • Frequently required to stand for extended periods, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with arms and talk or hear.

Mobile Maintenance Operator

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

What's the job?

Responsible for preventative maintenance tasks on industrial machinery, maintain industrial equipment as necessary. Trouble shoot machine break down and repair situations and safely restore the machine to the proper operating condition. Must adhere to all company safety policies and JSA’s while performing tasks and at all times when on the premises. Must possess a thorough understanding of the operation and have acquired additional technical training, both classroom and practical that will further enhance abilities that will meet individual and company needs.

Job Duties:

  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices
  • Be able to read equipment schematics and books to look up parts and service manuals
  • Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment in order to diagnose defects. Repair and replace damaged or worn parts.
  • Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers’ specifications
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on heavy equipment and vehicles using hoists and other proper tools
  • Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges
  • Schedule maintenance for industrial machines and equipment, and keep equipment service records
  • Weld or solder broken parts using electrical or gas welders and soldering tools. Be able to burn, cut and grind safely.
  • Complete required safety/work permits
  • Ensure maintenance shop is following 5S protocol
  • Be able to navigate SAP/PERSONAS for completing work orders, maintenance notifications, looking up parts and all other job related task. Complete equipment PM’s as scheduled
  • Will participate in training, craft skill improvement and department safety topics
  • Gensuite participation – conduct required SMAT Audits in accordance with plant goals and objectives
  • Report all EH&S incidents – Injuries/Recordables, Near Misses, First Aid, Environmental and Property/Equipment Damage
  • Ensure adherence to Waste Management and Recycling responsibilities.
  • Participate in Incident & Near Miss Investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions.
  • Participate in the development, understanding and review of all position JSA’s
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned
  • Relieve loader operators at lunch

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience and successfully pass a skills test that is intended to determine mechanical skills and knowledge, basic electrical, general welding, cutting, hydraulic, pneumatics and instrumentation knowledge and skills.

Moving equipment such as haul trucks, front end loaders, fork lifts, skid steer loaders, man lifts, and cranes travel throughout the facility, sometimes in congested areas. Frequently outdoors to perform work requires ability to work in hot, cold, rainy, snowy conditions.

Maintenance Electrician - Weekend Shift

What’s the job?

CertainTeed is hiring a Maintenance Electrician for our night/weekend shift!

In alignment with the company vision, mission, values, and objectives, the technician will troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and improve electrical systems with the intent of improving uptime and efficiency. Know, understand, and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of safe operating procedures, including housekeeping requirements.

Shift: Night/weekend shift - working 12 hour shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Compensation: $31.80 to - $39.00 per hour with a $2.00 shift differential

Primary Duties:

  • Work with industrial controls, limit switches, prox switches, and photocells
  • Work with analog controls such as level sensors, load cells, and pressure sensors
  • Will be expected to install conduit and basic circuits
  • Will perform basic fabrication
  • Replaces and repairs electrical equipment/components 110 & 240 volts 3 phase and low voltage motor controls
  • Review all required schematics, blueprints, drawings, and work orders to install, troubleshoot, and repair desired products, parts, or system
  • Checks, collects, and organizes all parts and tools prior to starting a job or assigned task
  • Understand Pedestrian & Mobile Equipment safety in the work area
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Understand Plant & Distribution Safety Rules
  • Able to understand and apply all safety procedures
  • Understand and follow all SOPs related to electrical maintenance
  • Understand NFPA 70E standards for electrical safety
  • Understand all Plant emergency situations & procedures
  • Complete Employee Safety Orientation & all safety training programs
  • Report all safety incidents to Team or Group Leaders
  • Proper use of necessary PPE required in the Plant work areas
  • Complete as instructed all other job assignments that are issued by the maintenance Team Leader
  • Ability to work independently
  • Must be able to read, interpret, draw materials, and build projects from blueprints with limited supervision producing first-time quality results
  • Ability to do other general building support including minor electrical, plastic, and metal pipe fabrication
  • Ability to perform tasks on plant equipment and systems with minimal supervision and a high level of reliability
  • Must be able to figure, layout, cut, and fit complex parts and shapes using blueprints, existing structures, and template materials

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including hearing protection, steel toe shoes, safety glasses, and hard hats
  • Ability to lift, pull, push, and carry up to 50 pounds (List only physical requirements that are essential to the position and/or cannot be easily accommodated.)

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work 12-hour shift
  • Ability to demonstrate acceptable attendance and workdays, nights, or weekends as scheduled

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of industrial electrical or mechanical maintenance experience in a continuous process (Required)

  • EFFECTIVE RATE: $30.78 - $39.08 this rate reflects what you’ll earn after factoring in shift differentials and OT pay

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Ensures operation of machinery, electrical, and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical and electrical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and/or other measuring instruments.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
  • Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
  • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Provides mechanical and electrical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Prepares mechanical and electrical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Troubleshoot/Diagnose 3-phase, up to 480V causes of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operation equipment, utilizing standard electronic test equipment while referencing technical drawings and documents
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Documents time through work orders and creates notification within SAP CMMS system
  • Uses Quick Kaizens to help with completing root cause analysis
  • Helps to create BOMs for equipment by creating equipment ledgers
  • Create and update documentation of all types: schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, assembly diagrams, maintenance logs, standard operating procedures, and instruction manuals, to keep documentation accurate, available and ready for use as needed.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED.
  • High School Education and/or AS or AAS Electrical/Electronic Technology Degree, Mechatronics, Industrial Technology or AS or BS in Electronics Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering Technology or
  • Five to ten (5-10) years of professional experience and knowledge in maintenance disciplines, such as automated control systems, safety qualifications, and professional industrial maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Requires adaptability, methodical/analytical problem solving skills, and employee leadership skills with the ability to effectively apply these skills in a manufacturing facility.

Saint-Gobain Research North America is seeking an experienced R&D Manager to join their Abrasives team in Northborough, MA.

The new R&D Manager will be responsible for Grinding Technology organization worldwide, supporting various R&D activities. Incumbent will be responsible for test method development and methodology, improving testing efficiency, developing and maintaining a portfolio of new application projects in coordination with all the worldwide grinding technology centers, their managers, engineers and technicians.     • Develop talent pipeline.
    • Lead a research and development organization of more than 15 people (direct) and ~ 40 people (indirectly).

The Shipper/Receiver will perform tasks associated with domestic and international shipments of all products. A thorough understanding of domestic and international shipping and DOT regulations will be essential in performing these tasks.
