WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

The Reliability Engineer will support IPG’s immediate and long-term technical reliability initiatives. Key deliverable for this role will be reduction of technical related losses with in IPG. This role is responsible for integration of robust PM Step 0 systems, SAP, AM Systems, the reliability pillar as well as training and direct plant support of restoration & Asset Care methodologies. This role is the key support interface and linkage between initial PM program and more advanced maintenance tools & techniques.

In conjunction with IPG Reliability Manager support plants in the development of their Reliability Strategy and directly assist in implementation

Assists plants in assessing gaps, training, development and Implementation of foundational elements to ensure improved sustainable technical reliability:

AM Systems

Assists plants in development and Implementation of foundational Autonomous Maintenance elements to ensure improved sustainable technical reliability:

  • Tag Systems
  • Area Improvement Boards
  • Duty Sheet Systems

Restoration & Asset Care
Lead/Train Asset Care projects, develop Equipment Ledgers and support PM Step 0 initiatives

Reactive Support

Promote and use problem-solving tools such as EWO and co-ordinate the implementation of solutions for major downtime events at sites

Advance Manufacturing

In conjunction with I4.0 Team identify areas for enhancing use of Condition Monitoring and other technologies to support continuous data collection for key machine attributes that will translate into improved equipment reliability

Best Practice Maintenance

  • In conjunction with plants develop Best Practice Maintenance for common critical AA equipment and components
  • Develops and maintains standard operating & maintenance procedures, and work instructions. Identify and co-ordinate development of good practice PM’s across sites to improve reliability
  • Support Plant Maintenance Network initiatives by interacting with managers and supervisors at plant and corporate personnel to secure appropriate resources to plan and implement projects
  • Development of detailed maintenance tasks when necessary

Loss Intelligence

Analyzes / stratifies accurate data and information from records to prepare reports, statistics, etc. in support of continuous improvement of reliability across IPG

Learning and Development

  • Trains Basic Tools such as EWO’s, Quick Kaizens, Tags, Etc to plants
  • Trains PM Step 0
  • Train Asset Care & Restoration concepts which supports the fundamentals Professional and Autonomous Maintenance

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Research, purchase, inventory, logistics and maintenance of spare parts stores area
  • Maintains various department records, files, reports and equipment ledgers.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as needed and/or requested by management

POSITION SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Ensures operation of machinery, electrical, and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical and electrical devices in operation; listening for problems; and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; and examining the form and texture of parts.
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and/or other measuring instruments.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
  • Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; and monitoring compliance.
  • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED.
  • High School Education and/or AS or AAS Electrical/Electronic Technology Degree, Mechatronics, Industrial Technology or AS or BS in Electronics Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering Technology or
  • Five to ten (5-10) years of professional experience and knowledge in maintenance disciplines, such as automated control systems, safety qualifications, and professional industrial maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Requires adaptability, methodical/analytical problem-solving skills, and employee leadership skills with the ability to effectively apply these skills in a manufacturing facility.
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication skills to work effectively in corporate, manufacturing, and team environments.

PREFERRED OR DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Mill Maintenance Mechanic

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

The Maintenance Mechanic reports to the Maintenance Supervisor/ Planner. This Position is responsible for preventative maintenance tasks on mill machinery, maintaining industrial equipment as necessary. Troubleshoot machine breakdowns and repair situations, and safely restore the machinery to proper operating condition. Must adhere to all company safety policies and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) while performing tasks and at all times when on the premises. Must possess a thorough understanding of the operation and have acquired additional technical training, both classroom and practical, that will further enhance abilities to meet individual and company needs. Additionally, the role involves implementing and adhering to the WCM Reliability standards set forth by Saint-Gobain, which include conducting breakdown analysis, collecting and stratifying breakdown data, and implementing countermeasures to sustain machine performance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform high-quality preventive maintenance on mill machinery to ensure efficient operation and minimize unscheduled breakdowns.
  • Work independently or with other mechanics to complete tasks. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
  • Diagnose and repair issues with rock crushers, screens, conveyor belts, hydraulic systems, gearboxes, and bearings. Ensure machinery is safely restored to proper operating condition.
  • Support WCM activities by performing root cause analysis, implementing sustainable countermeasures, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Attend monthly and daily safety meetings as required by all employees
  • Proficient in welding and Metal Fabrication of all types
  • Proficient in rigid conduit installation/ threading for air/ gas piping
  • Ability to lubricate equipment according to company standards
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, establish and promote the maintenance of a safe, accident-free, and healthy work environment, eliminate or control hazardous conditions resulting from human error, equipment, and machine operations, which may lead to human injury and property damage
  • Show proficient skills in troubleshooting mechanical systems
  • Use the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to create notifications and work orders. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
  • Ability to work overtime when it’s deemed necessary
  • Conduct SMAT Audits and Gensuite reporting
  • Participating in Incident & Near Miss Investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions
  • Participate in the development, understanding, and review of all position Risk Analysis, JSAs, and SOPs
  • Ability to travel 1-2 times per year for company-provided training at the company’s expense.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned (help with production)

This position currently operates on a day shift schedule, but it may change in the future based on the needs of the Mill

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Quarry and Manufacturing plant areas are not temperature-controlled; dust, fumes, and high noise areas are present inside the plant areas. The environment is not climate-controlled. Manufacturing processes involve granules, crushed rock, and dust. Noise levels exceed 80 dB in some areas of the site. Moving equipment such as forklifts, bobcat loaders, and heavy-duty mining equipment.

  • A high school diploma or GED along with related trade school education, apprenticeship, and/or experience in the related fields.
  • Ability to lead small to medium-sized cross-functional teams in high-pressure environments.

  • This position requires an understanding of the production process and its practices and procedures, as well as a high level of human relations skills to develop and motivate subordinates.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to work an average of 40 hours per week, speak clearly so others understand, accept criticism, deal calmly and effectively with all levels of employees, whether internal or external, have sensitivity to others' needs, and maintain a positive demeanor.  Must be able to climb stairs and lift 40 lbs. Extended work hours, weekends, and holidays may be required.

The Tooling Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all employees within their span of control are fully trained and consistently adhere to all safety, quality, and production procedures. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position which is $79,500 to $123,500 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $87,450 to $135,740. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
