WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
This position is for the new, state-of-the-art fiber glass mat plant! The incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day preventive maintenance tasks and repair of electrical power and electronic equipment, troubleshooting, instrumentation calibration and assist with any mechanical repairs at the state-of-the-art Glass Mat facility in Oxford, NC. Will possess a thorough understanding and hands on experience with electrical & electronic maintenance principals. Trouble shoot machine break down, repair situations, and safely restore the machine to the proper operating condition. Must adhere to all company safety policies and JSA’s while performing tasks and at all times when on the premises.

This position will initially be a Mon-Fri 7am - 3:30pm schedule. When production begins, this will change to a night shift position, 7pm - 7am.


NATURE & SCOPE OF POSITION:
The ability to diagnose and trouble shoot electrical malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Must have a solid ability to solve machine operation problems using skill set of deductive reasoning, and electric test meters. Conducts inspections and replaces or repairs non-operational equipment and/or components of equipment that are hindering the equipment from operating efficiently. The incumbent should have a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of electrical principles and adequate skills to understand various plant processes.

Teamwork will be required to be effective in daily maintenance assignments as well as continuous improvement projects.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Perform daily activities needed to support and comply with requirements surrounding plant maintenance activities.
• Be on call in a rotation with the other day shift electricians. During that time the electrician carries their phone with them and can be called in after hours to handle electrical issues that arise at the plant. This requires staying in a location and condition so that the person can be at the plant within an hour.
• Testing electrical systems and equipment using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters and oscilloscopes.
• Rebuild of components to be used on the equipment in the plant along with reading and interpreting blueprints and layout instructions and have knowledge/understanding of hydraulic/pneumatic theory.
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints and schematics and wire control panels.
• Will assist line mechanics and electricians as necessary when needed to support production including all of the above listed tasks and other means of support as needed.
• Will participate in training, craft skill improvements and department safety topics.
• Follow all safety precautions while performing tasks at all times. Along with preforming fire response responsibilities.
• All areas are to be clean and clear of any debris before/after maintenance days and holidays.
• Report all EH&S incidents – Injuries/Recordables, Near Misses, First Aid, Environmental and Property/Equipment Damage.
• Ensure adherence to Waste Management and Recycling responsibilities.
• Participate in Incident & Near Miss Investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions.
• Participate in the development, understanding and review of all position JSA’s.
• Conduct required SMAT Audits in accordance with plant goals and objectives.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES (SKILLS & ABILITIES):

High School Diploma or GED plus a minimum of 10 (10) years’ electrical experience and successfully pass a skills test, that is intended to determine mechanical and electrical skills and knowledge, A/C and 3 phase circuits, instrumentation knowledge and skills. Must maintain a positive rating as described in the training/qualification evaluation record as a Maintenance Electricians. Communication skills must be at a high level in order to clearly communicate issues/problems of the process. Interfacing with computerized process monitoring systems and other computer software and systems requires knowledge and skills in areas of computer operations. Must have a valid forklift and buggy license and complete associated training requirements for safe operations and maintenance of forklift.


This position will require active participation, training, knowledge and understanding along with progression as a 3rd class and, 2nd class electrician.


PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to work an average of 40 hours per week, speak clearly, so others understand, accept criticism, deal calmly and effectively, communicate with all levels of customers, whether internal or external, sensitivity to other’s needs, and maintain a positive demeanor. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and talk and hear. Other physical requirements include, ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50#’s without assistance, ability to work from various squatting, kneeling or bending positions, ability to climb ladders up to 60 feet and the ability to work with arms above head.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Manufacturing plant is not temperature controlled; dust, fumes, and high noise areas are present inside plant areas. Manufacturing processes involve fiberglass, latex, glycerin, and formaldehyde. Noise levels exceed 80 dB in some areas of the site. Moving equipment such as fork lifts, buggies, genie booms and industrial sweepers travel throughout the facility, sometimes in congested areas.

WCM Reliability Engineer II

The Role

The Reliability Engineer will be responsible for investigating and problem-solving plant reliability issues utilizing World Class Manufacturing (WCM) techniques and principles. This position will support the maintenance department in the rationalization, planning, scheduling, and at times execution of maintenance activities to drive improved, sustainable plant reliability in a manner consistent with CertainTeed Roofing’s Objectives.

  • Identifying new opportunities and solutions with cost/ benefit analysis and making recommendations to improve efficiencies.
  • Revising and maintaining existing processes; developing and implementing WCM projects, managing and guiding contractors, consultants, and suppliers.
  • Assist in automation training of technicians, associated automation troubleshooting, and reduction in mean time to repair automation failures.
  • Provides input into planning and scheduling of projects and preparing expense & capital expenditures.
  • Responsible for planning, evaluating, organizing, and implementing assigned installation, maintenance and repair activities and coordinating with other departments to assure minimum downtime for production and maximum safety of employees.
  • Performs failure modes and effects analysis and implements sustainable countermeasures on losses related to downtime.
  • Progressively improves the Professional Maintenance status of all equipment on a prioritized basis using WCM techniques and ensures sustainability of completed improvements by the maintenance team.
  • Collaborates with Plant Resources (ex: Maintenance, Engineering, Production) to develop a Preventive Maintenance program that drives improved reliability.
  • Interacts with plant and corporate personnel to secure appropriate resources to plan and implement projects.
  • Works closely with Plant Resources (ex: Maintenance, Engineering, Production) to coordinate any proposed changes.
  • Develops and implements standard operating and maintenance procedures, and work instructions.
  • Ensures full documentation of all projects and systems to WCM and/or Project Management Office (PMO) standards.
  • Supports the Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), SAP.
  • Supports Autonomous Maintenance through training of operators and ensuring that equipment basic conditions are maintained. Provides training for operators and maintenance personnel.
  • Analyzes / stratifies accurate data and information from records to prepare reports, statistics, etc. in support of continuous improvement of reliability.
  • Continuously evaluates workplace for safety concerns and ensures behavioral safety initiatives are performed to goal levels.

 

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED   

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience as a Reliability Engineer or similar (preferred)
  • 3+ years’ experience repairing and troubleshooting plc and electrical equipment (Siemens and AB preferred)
  • Professional experience in a continuous process manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with P&ID, Equipment Layout Drawings, design optimization & troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement toolsets.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and the ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
  • Flexible and open-minded with good written and oral communication.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Certain states require pay information be provided in job postings. The national pay range for this position is $79,500 to $123,400 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The total target cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $87,450 to $135,740.

Industrial Electrician

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

In this hands-on Industrial Electrician role, you will provide secondary production support by performing diverse duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment while complying with all safety regulations at the CertainTeed Gypsum Finishing Corner Production Plant in Bend, Oregon. You will also perform, coordinate, and supervise electrical activities and be engaged in the construction, maintenance, and repair of the plant’s electrical power, communication, and lighting systems.

As an Industrial Electrician, you will be under the direction of the Maintenance Manager.

Work Schedule

Shift schedules are fixed with the current opening on the Day Shift (Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM).

Compensation

As an Industrial Electrician with a current LME Electrical License, your base pay rate will start at $45.00 per hour.  Electrician Journeymen will start at $50.00 per hour. Compensation will commensurate with your experience and skills.

Job Duties

  • Provide second-tier corrective repair of production equipment during production hours and scheduled maintenance repair of production equipment during machine services.
  • Inspect wiring and fixtures for conformance to company specifications or local electrical codes and recommend and perform upgrades to ensure compliance.
  • Plan wiring and installation of equipment and fixtures such as motors, generators, switches, sensors, circuit breakers, circuit relays, and industrial controls.
  • Fabricate new and replacement equipment according to blueprints or shop/engineering drawings, specification sheets, and measurements taken from existing machinery.
  • Purchase and receive parts and services, and report expenses within the department budgetary guidance and spending discipline, including securing CapEx quotes and bid waivers.
  • Understand production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
  • Document work accurately in the CMMS on behalf of self and the team.
  • Function as the subject matter expert on designated processes and equipment, and the primary trainer for the team.
  • Keep current on all relevant safety training, standards, and procedures while maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
  • Support management and engineering with, and participate in, continuous improvement, research, and development activities.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (required)

Job Summary

Operate injection molding machines to produce products which conform to part print. Assure products meet all quality specifications and are made according to the latest procedures and standards.

Essential Functions

  • Set Up molds and machines to manufacture parts according to specifications using approved set up sheets to cycle machines
  • Weigh materials and other specified ingredients per specifications/instructions and Load blended materials in hopper on molding machines as needed
  • Operate Process Injection molding machines to produce specified product according to customer specifications and ensuring Quality of the parts.
  • Inspect Parts for defects and make necessary corrections to troubleshoot them out of the process. Escalate when help is needed
  • Measure Parts according to print guidelines using calipers, rulers, and other measuring devices.
  • Meet Productivity standards on a consistent basis. Escalate issues to management that will affect productivity.
  • Purge machines during the changeover process to ensure the machine is ready for the next cycle.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Efficient and willingness to perform required work with good attendance and attitude. Understand SOP's relating to the department activities. Good analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills. Must be a team player. Effective communication skills essential - both written and verbal

Operational knowledge of injection molding machines is preferred.

​PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Requires walking, primarily on a level surface throughout the day. May need to climb stairs/steps periodically. May need to stoop or kneel and reach above shoulder heights, below the waist. Lifting as required with proper lifting techniques up to 50 pounds on occasion.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position is in a clean room environment where the use of personal protective equipment such as hearing protection, safety glasses, and safety shoes are mandated. Noise levels and temperatures may vary due to areas accessed. There is some exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals such as alcohol.

The Role

The Material Handler is responsible for all aspects of loading and unloading of raw materials and finished product at the new state-of-the-art fiber glass mat plant in Oxford, NC.

Expected Schedule(subject to change) : 7am - 3:30, Mon - Fri

What’s the job?

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Safely operate a forklift.
  • Loading and Unloading Material (53’ vans, rail cars and containers including the fiber and resin trucks from a dock and outdoor yard during all seasons and weather conditions.
  • Read and understand what product(s) to select, how to load and unload trucks based off pick documents and bills of lading
  • Cycle count inventory weekly or as required
  • Follows the Logistics Standard Operating Procedures Support and Maintain Warehouse stock location system and code dates to ensure proper inventory turns and adherence to FIFO principles.
  • Prepares various reports as needed.
  • Provides high level Service to Customers and Transportation providers
  • Participates in safety and start up meetings
  • Participation and completion of required Environmental, Health and Safety training. Responsible for performing SMAT observations and other audit programs, cleaning, painting, and maintaining 5S system.
  • Ability to safely lift, carry and stack up to 50 lbs
  • General housekeeping and all other related tasks as assigned
  • Show initiative through continuous improvement in safety, quality and efficiency of the department by communication

May require long periods of sitting, walking, and standing, working on a computer or engaging in telephone conversation.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Our manufacturing plant is not temperature controlled; dust, fumes, and high noise areas are present inside plant areas. Manufacturing processes involve fiberglass, glycerin, latex and formaldehyde. Noise levels exceed 80 dB in some areas of the site. Moving equipment such as fork lifts, buggies, genie booms and industrial sweepers travel throughout the facility, sometimes in congested areas.

  • Ensure safe work practices are being followed.

  • Notify the sales team of any product that did not make it on the truck.
  • Inspect the racks and surrounding area on a daily basis to ensure that product is not forgotten.
  • Ensure that all trucks have the required load manifest paperwork.
  • Determine areas of improvement for employees, providing additional training as needed.
  • Celebrate successes and foster an atmosphere of success.
  • Provide informal feedback and coaching to staff on an ongoing basis and document those discussions.
  • Ensure employees have clear goals and are aware of expectations.
  • Participate in site and workplace inspections.
  • Liaise with other departments as well as other shifts to ensure that all parties are aware of the priorities for the day.
  • Assist with the loading of customer vehicles or the loading of trucks as required.
  • Safely operate material handling equipment such as the Moffetts, Combi-lift forklifts, and counterbalance forklifts.
  • Unload shipments from vendors as required.
  • Assist with the control of traffic in the yard.
  • Ensure that the employees under your direction maintain a clean working environment.
  • Ensure that all employees take allotted vacation time in compliance with applicable employment and labour standards.
  • Approve vacation requests and monitor vacation schedules to ensure appropriate coverage.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Purchasing Manager, under the guidance of the President, will be responsible for enhancing our purchasing practices and procedures. This position will work closely with our Purchasing team and oversee all purchasing tasks including raw materials, equipment, services, and supplies. The main focus will be on steel purchasing as it amounts to roughly 70% of Agway’s product costs and availability of steel is our most critical determinant for meeting customer expectations. This role will work closely with the Director of Metal Procurement to make sound purchasing decisions. This position will also challenge the status quo and investigate new products, suppliers, and be instrumental in vendor selection and contract negotiations.

What you’ll do:

  • Work closely with the Director of Sales to monitor inventory and determine supply needs to meet customer demand with an in-depth knowledge of market pricing and replacement costs of steel.
  • Work with the Director of Metal Procurement to make decisions regarding steel purchasing needs.
  • Analyze market trends and use this information to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Prepare data/analysis for weekly steel procurement meetings.
  • Review supply outages, determine the root causes, and adjust the Purchasing program, if required.
  • Assist other departments with purchasing needs including the IT Department, Logistics Department, and Manufacturing Department.
  • Manage other members of the Purchasing team which currently includes the Purchasing coordinator (Steel Procurement) and the Purchasing Administrator.
  • Negotiate prices and contracts with vendors.
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors.
  • Research new vendors and contact vendors for quotes.
  • Evaluate existing vendors based on quality, timeliness, and price.
  • Evaluate existing vendor contracts and revise as required.
  • Advise management about vendor price increases.
  • In consultation with the Director of Metal Procurement, create the annual Purchasing budget.
  • Use forecasting techniques to ensure that we are maintaining appropriate inventory levels based on seasonality (and other) requirements.
  • Review inventory min/max settings in the ERP system to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist the Sales department with any purchasing inquiries.
  • Review and approve special purchasing requests.
  • Make informed decisions regarding whether a product should be stocked in our plants.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 Qualifications and Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Purchasing Manager.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Commitment to ethical business practices.
  • Experience in steel procurement is preferred.
  • Having a purchasing designation is an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Process-oriented.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Microsoft Dynamics experience is an asset.
