Compensation: $21.84/hour

We are looking to train energetic dedicated team members. POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Technical Operator will be responsible for successfully operating equipment, evaluating samples, and compiling information and reports. The list of duties includes but are not limited to:

SAFETY

  • Always support a safe working environment in all areas of plant and with all employee interactions.
  • Immediately, correct or report unsafe acts or conditions through appropriate channels of resolution.

SUPPORT PLANT OPERATIONS

  • Daily operations include, but aren’t limited to, safety, quality, housekeeping, operations, maintenance, material handling, and inventory management.

  • Communication: you will continuously interact with peers and managers about daily interactions, potential issues, and needs; it is critical that you remain approachable and engaged with the team – we look out for one another, and communication is the key.
  • Flexibility: you must be flexible to work in multiple areas, adapt to production schedule changes, environmental changes, and potential work schedule changes.
  • Data recording when necessary for the assigned shift.
  • Follow all environmental and housekeeping requirements, properly dispose of trash, regularly sweep keeping material, oil and water off floors and keep contaminated material from entering process water system.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and inspections on equipment – training will be provided.
  • Ensures that quality is maintained by following current operating procedures and process controls.
  • Perform all other duties and assignments as and when requested by the Shift Supervisor.

  • Promote and support an atmosphere of continuous improvement toward safety, quality, customer service and productivity process improvements through the engagement of your team.

 

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED

PREFERRED OR DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • · Previous work experience in Lean Principles or WCM is a plus but not required.

  • Essential and marginal functions require maintaining good physical condition necessary for standing and walking for prolonged periods of time.
  • Incumbent will exert an average force of 50 pounds to lift, carry, push, pull and/or transfer equipment and materials; this role requires considerable walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
  • May lift and stack heavy objects not to exceed 50 pounds and carry these items up to 50 feet of distance.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, and walkways associated with industrial manufacturing environments.

The Role

Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, The Production Supervisor is accountable for overseeing production staff in attaining production cost and quality goals while maintaining a safe work environment. Job Functions

  • Supervise and conduct daily operations with a potential staff of 12-18 people, with direct supervision over operations and maintenance.
  • Lead the administration of CertainTeed policies and demonstrate the behaviors.
  • Lead, facilitate, and assign plant personnel to meet daily production expectations
  • Schedule employees and assign work for quality, operations, and maintenance, maintain production reliability reports, and present at daily production meetings.
  • Monitor equipment efficiency, ensure adequate supplies on hand, and manage labor requirements needed to effectively meet customer demand.
  • Participate with department budget preparation and track expenses. Keep applicable records of safety, production and maintenance reports, performance, overtime and product quality
  • Promote and facilitate team based initiatives that continuously improve safety, product quality, production processes, delivery to our customers, and cost performance.
  • Train, challenge, and motivate employees to ensure understanding and compliance with Federal, State, Company and Plant Policies regarding safety, conduct, product quality, production, operator based care, and process troubleshooting.
  • Responsible for employee performance appraisals, employee development, feedback, conflict resolution, talent retention, payroll, and training.
  • Accountable to accurately complete all end of shift SAP transactions and reports
  • Schedule may vary with time of the year and the needs of the business. Must be flexible to schedule changes and must be willing to work what is required.

  • Promote and facilitate Site improvement opportunities, with a focus on project management, Kaizen events, and WCM projects.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct behavior-based audits and 5S audits as well as support plants' EHS goals.

Senior Research Engineer 1 – Architectural Ceilings and Walls

CertainTeed is committed to be the leader in light and sustainable construction. To achieve this vision, we are looking for a driven, talented, and experienced engineer to join our Architectural Ceilings and Walls R&D team within the Interior Products Group of CertainTeed/Saint-Gobain. This member of the R&D team will be located at the CertainTeed Strongsville manufacturing site and enable efficient manufacturing of interior building products for the wood ceiling and wall specialty segments. Projects will focus on improvement of processes, performance and product development activities related to the entire CertainTeed specialty ceilings product line.

As a Senior Research Engineer, the candidate will be expected to effectively collaborate with cross functional teams (R&D, EHS, operations, supply chain, product management) to execute and deliver project objectives within the wood ceiling segment. The candidate will use excellent scientific methodology to create and execute project plans, design production trials, analyze data, and communicate findings. The candidate will also act as the lead engineer for the provision of adequate tools, equipment, and process methods while applying the best practices to define quality standards, manage risks, and complete validation testing. The candidate is expected to collaborate with plant personnel to identify opportunities for process improvement and propose best practices to R&D and the business.

Essential Functions

  • Work safely in manufacturing environment and actively participate in continuous improvement of the Saint-Gobain safety culture.
  • Lead new innovation development for the Architectural Ceilings and Walls team, with a focus on specialty products.
  • Independently drive new product design in alignment with portfolio and customer needs.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities for more efficient and reliable processes, raw material management, and improved production of current products.
  • Design and carry out test methods and production trials with strong scientific methodologies that yield actionable data while minimizing impact on plant productivity.
  • Partner with product, supply chain, sales, and operations teams to proactively identify roadblocks in development projects and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Develop product design and engineering specifications, manufacturing plans and CTQ requirements.

Required Qualifications

BS Degree with a minimum of 7+ years’ experience or MS with 3+ years of experience plus demonstrated technical judgement/accomplishments, or entry level PhD in Engineering, Chemistry, or other related fields.

  • Experience in wood materials and manufacturing techniques required.
  • Strong ability to communicate verbally and via written documentation.
  • Experience in ISO 9001 & 14991 management systems preferred.
  • Experience in DOE, FMEA, VSM, 5S, Kaizen, and 8D Methodologies preferred.
  • Understanding of PMBOK Guideline, Stage Gate / APQP, ECN/MOC for process development preferred.
  • Experience in production trials and validation testing preferred.

Certain states require pay information be provided in job postings. The national pay range for this position is $66,900 to $103,500 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 9% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The total target cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $72,900 to $112,800.

Senior Cost Accountant

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

In this role, you will facilitate business plans and operational decisions, by generation /analyses of financial reports and shop floor reporting.

You will assist with the cost accounting function within the facility -specifically, as it relates to product costs, and processes. You will also manage, analyze and report financial results of the Manufacturing facility -specifically work orders and inventory related activities. Specific duties will encompass the following:

  • Cost Maintenance: work order reporting and analysis, product costing, cost roll-up, assist with internal procedures and policies
  • Monthly Close Process: Perform journal entry posting, balance sheet reconciliations
  • Reporting and Analysis: Assist with site-specific financials, various variance analysis and department spending analysis. Run daily audit reports. Costing of new product and participation in the budget and updating the ERP during the budget phase.
  • Fixed Asset Maintenance: Maintain a fixed asset roll forward schedule; work with project manager to confirm asset status. Ensure all fixed assets are placed into service timely. Lead fixed asset audits.

In addition, the Cost Accountant role will undertake metrics, assist controller with special projects and audit requests.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or related field of study required.
    • Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience with cost accounting, financial analysis and with month end close and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • 5+ years of experience of accounting/finance within a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have sufficient understanding and knowledge of IT Technology and Microsoft products.
  • QAD ERP experience preferred.

Research Engineer II - CRL Materials Characterization

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

The Competency Research Lab within Saint-Gobain Research North America, Northborough, MA is seeking a Research Engineer to join their Materials Characterization team.

The Research Engineer will focus primarily on molecular spectroscopy: Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Raman spectroscopy applied to the analysis of a wide variety of materials including polymers, ceramics, adhesives, films, fabrics, building materials, abrasives, and more. Additionally, this new team member will oversee the planning, execution, and reporting of test results, as well as the development and validation of new methods and advanced techniques that provide a high degree of customized problem-solving to address critical technical questions and performance observations.

As a member of Saint-Gobain Research North America CRL Materials Characterization Team, Research Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Providing multidimensional support to research and manufacturing activities using expertise in materials analysis/characterization.
  • Complex problem solving and leading project work as a part of a cross-functional team.
  • Competency development for materials characterization.
  • Responsible for all aspects of laboratory operation including safety, sample backlog, report approvals, customer interaction, instrumentation maintenance and repair, proposal, and implementation of new Capex.
  • Staying abreast of new advancements in techniques and equipment; Identify and evaluate new technologies and methods for analytical testing and characterization and lead the validation and implementation.
  • Providing expertise to R&D and manufacturing, interacting with customers.
  • Laboratory management.
  • Competency development.
  • Establishing contacts and collaborations internally and externally.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ years of experience or master’s degree with a thesis in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or other related disciplines.

  • Solid experience and knowledge in applied molecular spectroscopy: IR and Raman.
  • Other experience in analytical chemistry of organics and polymers (e.g., chromatography, NMR) is a plus.

    Qualifications and Education Requirements:

    • Position requires a minimum of an associate degree in a technical field, and/or requisite maintenance experience that lends itself to a working knowledge of machines, their operation and spare parts needed.
    • Must demonstrate core competencies of effective communications, listening, and have strong organizational skills.
    • Must understand purchasing procedures and MRO parts distribution, be computer literate, and have the knowledge of computerized maintenance systems, or possess the ability to learn.
    • Must be comfortable with physical aspects of the plant’s environment; i.e., working with various byproducts of raw materials used in the operation.
    • Minimum time requirements of 1-year Electrician II and 12 months free of any written disciplinary (requirement for bid job procedure)
