We are seeking an experienced Central Extrusion Process Manager to join our team. This role is pivotal in driving process excellence through Industry 4.0 methodologies, employing both tactical and strategic approaches to support our growing business.

Technical Expertise:

  • Process Development: Utilize a broad technical background to develop and improve material blending and feeding, compounding, and extrusion processes, including cost reduction using state-of-the-art technology.
  • Sustainability: Promote SPG’s sustainability efforts by aligning projects with business needs and expectations.
  • Training: As the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for extrusion, train plant resources to ensure knowledge transfer and successful application of extrusion science.
  • Support: Provide final support for complex blend through extrusion issues during plant upset conditions.
  • Innovation: Stay informed about new technology applications and competitive uses, applying this knowledge to personal research and product development.

Leadership and Management:

  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership to associates and colleagues throughout the extrusion plants community.
  • Project Management: Manage and lead multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time, well-documented, and within budget to meet business and customer objectives.
  • Collaboration: Demonstrate an open and collaborative approach in all areas of responsibility, seeking out others to enhance and streamline development and decision-making.

Operational Excellence:

  • Operational Efficiency: Develop, procure, and deliver solutions and equipment to improve operational efficiency, production output, quality, and safety.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collect, track, and evaluate production data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintenance Support: Assist maintenance as needed with equipment and parts problems.
  • Product Scale-Up: Collaborate with R&D to ensure the efficient scale-up of new products.
  • Documentation: Create and manage screw and barrel manufacturing engineering prints and documentation.
  • Equipment Evaluation: Analyze and determine the capabilities and limitations of new, proposed, or existing equipment.
  • Vendor Evaluation: Evaluate machinery, equipment, tooling, and vendors.
  • Innovation Launch: Work with subject matter experts and vendors to develop and launch innovative technologies that improve manufacturing processes.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Science, Polymer Science, or related field required
  • 15+ years of manufacturing experience required
  • 5+ years of hand-on experience with extrusion processes & equipment in an industrial setting required
  • Master's Degree Preferred

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive blending, feeding and extrusion process strategy for vinyl manufacturing plants, aligning with business strategy and industry trends.   
  • Oversee multiple process optimization projects, ensuring they are well-defined, properly resourced, and executed within established timelines, while fostering strong collaboration with Production, Engineering, R&D and Quality & Process Control. Facilitate seamless communication to ensure a cohesive approach to Extrusion processing optimization while monitoring the process, allocating resources effectively and adapting strategies as needed.  And assuring full ownership in driving and executing these projects to deliver best in class safety, process optimization and product quality resulting in overall operational excellence.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and advancement in blend, feed and extrusion processing. Identify opportunities for innovation and lead efforts to integrate new technologies into the plant process to enhance efficiency and product quality. \
  • Work closely with Director of Engineering and Plant Managers to identify and properly communicate equipment and improvement projects so they are properly budgeted.  Optimize resource utilization and explore cost-effective solutions while maintaining a focus on achieving research objectives and outcomes

Certain states require pay information be provided in job postings. The national pay range for this position is $111,000 to $177,000 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 15% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The total target cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $127,650.00 to $203,550.00

Human Resources Compliance Specialist

The HR Compliance Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the department in all aspects of HR compliance ensuring the company adheres to all relevant labor laws, regulations, and internal policies. This includes assisting with the monitoring, and maintenance of compliance programs. Regulatory HR Compliance:
Support HR Compliance Manager to:

Reporting and Documentation:

Plant Controller

The Plant Controller will be the co-pilot of the Plant Manager of our Jonesburg, MO manufacturing site, assisting them in driving the business forward. This role requires intensity, agility and aptitude to successfully manage multiple simultaneous priorities and projects to financially support a matrix of diverse customers. Focusing on continuous improvement and elimination of non-valued activities is key, as well as strong sense of customer service.

• Partner with plant management to increase plant efficiency and profitability - identify issues and proactively initiate analyses / solutions quickly and accurately, keeping in mind the requirements from GAAP. Meet the needs of a complex, diverse, dynamic and fast paced organization that will pose a wide variety of challenges from a manufacturing level.

• Manage the timely completion of the month-end financial close for the roofing and granule plant, demonstrating awareness of all elements of a plant’s financial statements.

• Prepare analysis to understand the financial ramifications of current and proposed business actions

• Ensure compliance with Saint-Gobain Corporate and Exterior Product Group policies and procedures

• Prepare and coordinate the annual budget at the plant level, oversee and reconcile inventory cycle counts and annual physical inventory and assist in preparation of capital appropriations requests

• Project work based on company objectives & supporting / challenging Six Sigma activities with special focus on the financial analysis, and cost reduction projects

• Financial training for non-financial stakeholders - ability to effectively develop people and transfer knowledge down into, and across, the financial and manufacturing organizations

• Attendance in the Plant every day, minimum of Four (4) days per week

• Travel up to 20%.

 

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Finance, CPA, CMA, or MBA preferable (Equivalent, complementary work experience may be substituted) 

• Minimum 5-7 years of progressive cost accounting and analysis experience with a major manufacturing organization. A strong emphasis should be put on knowledge of management accounting, cost and inventory accounting, and GAAP

• Strong analytical skills are required to quickly grasp issues impacting the plant’s financial result

• Strong communication & presentation skills - capable of leading a process team and able to define clear vision, goals, and service standards, as well as working independently.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across plant and functional organizations

• Strong IT aptitude to deliver effective desktop reporting (paperless web-enabled environment), utilize business warehouse tools, MS Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, SAP knowledge would be preferable

Plant Manager

The Plant Manager is responsible for leading the Wilmington, California manufacturing facility to achieve operations goals and objectives regarding plant safety, environmental, quality, service, profitability, capital investment, cost reduction programs, strategic operations planning - all while maintaining a positive employee relations climate.

Managers of the Production, Engineering, Materials Management, WCM, Quality, and HSE functions report directly to the Plant Manager. The Plant Manager actively leads overall site safety and environmental initiatives to achieve and maintain world class performance and will direct and coordinate all operations related to production and shipment of roofing products produced at the Wilmington facility.

Main duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage, direct and coordinate all operations directly related to production and shipment of all products produced by the facility: Materials Management, Manufacturing and Manufacturing Systems, Facilities Engineering/Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Shipping and Receiving, Process Engineering, Purchasing
  • Manage, direct and coordinate Plant staff functions and daily operational activities. Ensure people training and development activities to foster our TEC culture providing future leadership opportunities.
  • Staff all above functions, as appropriate to the most effective achievement of operational and strategic planning, goals and objectives (short term and long term).
  • Provides key leadership to quality, efficiency, productivity, EHS compliance and cost savings for the facility.
  • Prepare operational plans and budgets, and report to appropriate Management on actual performance vs. those plans.
  • Provide top leadership for positive labor relations and compliance to the sites CBA.
  • Drive systematic cost improvement and state-of-the-art processing through WCM program.
  • Responsible to the facilities compliance with Saint-Gobain’s Code of Conduct, Business Principles and Ethics.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering or similar discipline required
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive operations experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a people management capacity required
  • Proven success managing a unionized workforce required
  • Ability to foster and establish effective working relationships - with plant employees and outside stakeholders/contacts - required

Certain states require pay information be provided in job postings. The national pay range for this position is $133,000 to $213,000 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 17% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The total target cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $155,610 to $249,210.

Job Summary
QA Inspectors compare in process and finished goods to established specifications; reports variance to Coordinator.

Essential Functions:

  • Compare first piece produced on equipment set-up for conformance to specification.
  • Write detailed inspection report in compliance with GMP standard on parts, products and processes that fail inspection; investigates scope of the failure and forward report to Coordinator for disposition.
  • Use working knowledge of inspection techniques to determine most accurate method of comparing measurements of complex parts to blueprint and specification.
  • Compare measurements, form, fit, function and value judgments of simple and complex parts to blueprint, specifications and general workmanship standards using documents, experience and knowledge of inspection techniques.
  • Utilize statistical process control where applicable.
  • Assist in orientation of new technicians and inspection processes, as necessary.
  • Assist in ensuring proper calibration of equipment and measuring instruments.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Maintain proper levelof supplies (office and inspection) to prevent depletion This includes reordering task
  • Carry out formulated plans, policies and procedures of the department per GMP regulations
