Impact:

Mixer Operator- Produces batches of materials that are used in the manufacture of products including adhesives, urethane and PVC foams. Batch sizes may run up to 7,000 pounds. The Mixer follows SOPs, production schedules and standard formulas to meet internal and external customers' needs. Accuracy in the mixing operation is critical to quality, cost-effective production of materials use in further manufacturing processes. The Mixer works independently and as a member of a team.

Provides support to programs in Granville, NY within the defined continuous improvement framework, in a manner consistent with Saint-Gobain EHS Policies and Principles of Conduct and Action.

Employees are required to work overtime as scheduled. This includes before/after shift or weekend shift.

2nd Shift: Monday - Friday- 3:30 pm - Midnight

Pay: $22.28/hr to start plus $1.00 shift differential ($.75 increase in hourly rate after 6 months)

Each year, based on individual/business performance, employees have the potential to receive annual bonus in March and merit increase in April.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

Certain states require pay information be provided in job postings. The local pay range for this position is $22.28 per hour, plus shift differential of $1.00 /hr. This hourly pay rate offered can vary depending on location/geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 10% of hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures.

The total annual target cash range (Hourly Pay Rate, Bonus and Shift Differential, annualized (40 hrs/week * 52wks) for this position, is $53,200.

Additional Pay Incentives for this Role Include:

Job Description

The assembler is responsible producing quality products to specifications of customers as defined on the product prints and routers. Full participation in activities in the clean room (assembly, heat sealing, cleaning, packing, etc.) to achieve on-time shipment goals and efficiency targets.

Essential Functions

• Read product prints and specifications prior to starting assembly process.

• Follow assembly procedures.

• Fill out all paperwork documenting steps performed, quantities, and quality checks performed.

• Collect components for assembly ensuring lot number traceability.

• Clean components and assemblies with alcohol (IPA).

• Package assemblies in plastic bags and heat seal.

• Perform other related tasks, including but not limited to, performing housekeeping tasks required to keep work areas clean and organized.

• Observe all safety rules and regulations including the wearing of protective equipment when required. Report any accidents and unsafe conditions to management.

• Replenish supplies.

• Must be available for overtime work when necessary.

• Maintain and practice manufacturing procedures.

 

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED). Efficient and willingness to perform required work with good attendance and attitude. Understand SOP's relating to the department activities. Good analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills. Must be a team player. Effective communication skills essential - both written and verbal

​PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Requires walking, primarily on a level surface throughout the day. May need to climb stairs/steps periodically. May need to stoop or kneel and reach above shoulder heights, below the waist. Lifting as required with proper lifting techniques up to 50 pounds on occasion.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• This position is in a clean room environment where the use of personal protective equipment such as hearing protection, safety glasses, and safety shoes are mandated. Noise levels and temperatures may vary due to areas accessed. There is some exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals such as alcohol.

Essential Functions:

  • Understand and follow proper LOTO procedures. Use proper LOTO when working on equipment
  • Must be able to start up the various pieces of equipment according to the Standard Operating Procedure
  • Must understand basic computer skills and ability to use a CMMS system.
  • Must have the ability to replace chains, all types of belts, and valves used in the plant.
  • Must have the ability to identify and replace bearings, sprockets, bushings, gearboxes, including lubrication requirements.
  • Must be able to perform preventive maintenance, plus lubrication on the production lines and support equipment as required, independent of other mechanics
  • Demonstrate ability to utilize math in fraction and decimals
  • Demonstrate knowledge of metric measuring systems
  • Demonstrate ability to proficiently operate powered hand tools
  • Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot or replace various types of pumps
  • Demonstrated the ability to troubleshoot or replace pneumatic systems
  • Demonstrate ability to fabricate from blueprints or sketches, various jigs, hangers, and safety guards
  • Demonstrate proficiency in welding
  • Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems

HR Partner Support to client groups

Employee Relations

  • Respond to employee relations issues in a unionized environment and work effectively with all parties involved to address and escalate to HR Management as required.
  • Ensure that all guidance, decisions making, and solutions offered will be in accordance to all applicable employment legislations as well as internal policies, processes and procedures and ensure the best interest of both the company and its employees have been taken into account.

  • Interpretation and implementation of relevant employment practices (e.g. employment and human rights legislation, collective agreements, labour law, etc.)

Onboarding

  • Support hiring manager and drive engagement and completion of Onboarding Checklist.
  • Meet with new hires on day one to review HR Onboarding presentation and paperwork.
  • Compile HR metrics (turn over, head count) analyzing, reporting and identifying emerging trends.

Training & Team engagement

  • Perpetuate a culture of high performance through effective leader coaching and feedback
  • Promotes a safe working environment, complies with proper use of PPE, understands applicable EHS programs (reporting incidents, and participates in functional department safety meetings.
  • Counsel site management team on the effective use of professional development plans, performance improvement plans, progressive discipline, and risk mitigated decisions.
  • Continuously develops our corporate culture by leading & supporting all employee wellness & engagement initiatives, and employee Social Events.
  • Proactively helps to drive employee engagement at the site and make recommendation for activities that can improve engagement.
  • Keeps current on knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law;
  • Partner and collaborate with broader HR team on Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards.

  • Coordination/administration/recommendations of the annual merit and incentive processes in coordination with department and HR leadership. Monitors Performance Management program and recommends improvements as necessary
  • Issues local communications & training for annual performance management cycle and total reward programs

The profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources administration or related field.
  • Minimum experience of 5+ years in a unionized environment

  • Strong Proficiency- Labour Relations, HRIS systems, MS office.
  • Good knowledge of current employment-related laws and legislations.

This position is based at our Alexandria, On site but would required to travel and work from our Pointe-Claire, QC facility from time to time. The role is functioning within an office environment, with frequent travel as required to the business units and the manufacturing plants. Plants visits will require on-the-floor interaction with both employees and process for observation and evaluation of HR issues.

  • Planning and scheduling of projects and preparing capital expenditures.
  • Provides technical expertise, support and enhancement of automation related systems (PLC / HMI / VFD / Instrumentation / Machinery Safety / Data and Voice Networks / plant electrical distribution systems) and implements required updates to avoid technical obsolescence.

What do you bring?

Assembly Operators* will operate and maintain various types of manufacturing equipment/hand tools and materials while efficiently processing glass as part of an assembly line operating at fast pace and adding value on each station as glass travels through it and finally packaging all while complying with all safety, quality, and 5S/housekeeping standards.

Schedule: 2nd Shift (M-F 2:00pm to 10:30pm)

Essential Functions

  • Inspect automotive glass as instructed to ensure conformance to quality requirements.
  • Handling and applying chemicals directly to the glass in specific areas
  • Allocating components on glass surface according to specifications, specifically: Canopy, Backlite and Windshield Three sided molding; Backlite lower molding.
    - Training others on process assembly method
    - Try new process and collaborate in productivity and industrialization improvements, which means try new tools and different process flow.
  • Adhering according to specifications
  • Packaging finished goods in large pallets, wooden boxes, cardboard boxes or other standard packaging
  • Utilizing all established PPE at all times
  • Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; informing supervisors and team leads when machinery needs repairs; and adhering to all safety procedures and regulations.

Hourly Rate: $17.00 hourly + $0.50 shift premium

  • 6 months + of relative manufacturing or assembly experience (preferred)

A Manufacturing Process Engineer, is responsible for designing, implementing, and reviewing the procedures and equipment involved in the manufacturing process. Their duties include researching automation techniques, testing new systems for efficiency and planning factory layouts to optimize production.

  • Analyze production processes, schedules, methods, and other data and then provide management with reports containing the data and statistics to enable management to better understand future requirements needed for the manufacturing process.
  • Ensure that the company’s manufacturing processes follow all government laws and regulations.
  • Review and calculate labor, material, and other production costs along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision making.
  • Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair services and make sure that manufacturer’s procedures and instructions are followed to keep production equipment operational.

Consistent with CertainTeed Gypsum Vision, Mission, Values, and Objectives, the  Engineering (Area Performance) Manager provides the leadership for employees to implement a continuous improvement culture throughout the site. This will be done through direct leadership of the Performance Team and collaborative efforts to provide process support, directly or through subordinates using Lean/Continuous Improvement principles & WCM tools.

As a member of the plant management team, they will lead performance improvement efforts in a manner to achieve maximum productivity and operating efficiencies within safety, quality, service, and cost standards.

Ths Manager will be responsible for the team's performance and is accountable for improving the applicable standards in the plant and reports to the Sr. Plant Manager. Reporting directly to the Engineering (Area Performance) Manager is a team of engineers.

Below are some of the responsibilities this person will perform:

  • Directs and coaches Performance Team Engineers by coaching for optimal performance and providing leadership and information needed to empower employees to achieve corporate, plant, department, and individual goals, from both an immediate and long-term perspective.
  • Act as a plant change agent, leading & coordinating the Company Lean, WCM, and Continuous Improvement transformation.
  • Guides Performance Team to teach and promote the use of Lean principles & WCM tools.
  • Develop and report key metrics that track the progress of Continuous Improvement initiatives versus goals.
  • Development &/or customization of training materials for classroom & factory floor settings.
  • Collaborate with plant teams to utilize visual management.
  • Participate in new product development projects as it pertains to the plant.
