WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

In this hands-on Production Operator role, you will operate all production equipment, manage scrap, and maintain high productivity levels at the CertainTeed Gypsum Finishing Corner Production Plant in Bend, Oregon. You will also sustain a positive team environment and a focus on quality assurance and continuous improvement.

Typical Job Duties

  • Run efficient production lines, problem-solve to ensure products meet quality specifications, including checking product and equipment frequently, and make immediate adjustments to lines when needed.
  • Set-up, start, run, shutdown, clean, and troubleshoot extruders and other production equipment.
  • Build boxes, maintain printers, track tools and equipment, and ensure all needed supplies are available.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork (i.e. all logbooks and line paperwork), read and understand specifications for all products, grade products, and document all changes to the lines as they occur.
  • Keep lines and production floor clean, free of debris, and stocked for the incoming shift.
  • Consistently and effectively communicate with all other team members and ask for help when needed.
  • Participate in and promote safety, quality, continuous improvement events and ideas.
  • Identify opportunities and help find new or better solutions.

Work Schedule

Our shift schedules are fixed with current openings on the following shift:

  • Day Shift - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 4:30am-5:00pm

Compensation

Starting compensation for Production Operators is $20.00 per hour. Those assigned to the Night Shift also receive a 10% shift differential.

Additionally, all hours worked in excess of 10 hours per day are paid out as overtime. Therefore, in a normal work week, Production Operators work three 12-hours days for a total of 36 hours worked per week. In return, they receive 30 hours of regular earnings and 6 hours of overtime per week.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • One-year manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
  • Manual dexterity is required for operating machinery and computer entry.
  • Minimum English competency to adequately perform duties and responsibilities, both written and verbal

Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.

Additional Pay Incentives for This Role Include:

  • Standard overtime (Hourly Rate * 1.5) for all hours worked in excess of 10 hours per day.
  • 40 sick hours are awarded annually and unused hours are paid out in January

Production Buyer Planner

The Production Buyer - Planner, reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, is responsible for supporting the site in procurement of all materials required to complete fabrication and assembly in accordance with due dates driven by the Master Schedule and Production site demands. This includes purchasing inventory, procuring and processing subcontracting / outsourcing and services, and production planning and inventory analysis.

The position will require the use of lean principals and continuous improvement methodology to optimize metrics, including safety, quality, and efficiency.

Strict adherence and a commitment carrying out the Corporate and/or local policies, rules, and regulations in these areas is required.

The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

Purchasing - Direct:

  • Plan and execute procurement of materials required for inventory
  • Ensure ERP system is updated timely.
  • Monitor open purchase orders and expedite as required to ensure on-time delivery.  Revise and update orders as necessary.
  • Proactively communicate material and component availability issues
  • Negotiate pricing and report cost savings
  • Assist in developing dual sources for key processes, materials and components
  • Maintain strong working relationships with key suppliers to confirm production/shipping schedules
  • Promote supplier engagement, especially for local suppliers.
  • Set up vendors.

Subcontracting/Outsourcing and Services:

  • Procurement of subcontracted items
  • Facilitate product movement to outside suppliers
  • Monitor open purchase orders and expedite as required to ensure on-time delivery
  • Place Scrap / raw material refining orders.
  • Place repair and maintenance orders.
  • Order supplies as required.

Planning and Inventory:

  • Maintain MRP system item data to ensure system is effectively planning future requirements.
  • Participate and contribute to inventory reduction initiatives.
  • Conduct material analysis of inventory.
  • Develop and communicate forecasts to suppliers and vendors
  • Assist in annual physical inventory and lead or perform cycle counts as per policy
  • Release and print work orders.
  • Complete routing modifications as needed.
  • Update and maintain work order validity.
  • Analyze and close work orders.  Scan and scrap work orders.
  • Review monthly work order variances.
  • Other special projects and assignments as required by management

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • Bachelor’s degree Supply Chain or Operations Management is required; or 7+ years experience within Supply Chain may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
  • 2+ years’ experience in Supply Chain, Planning, Purchasing, Scheduling with the understanding of manufacturing lead time, process, sub-contract operations and MRP/ERP knowledge is required.
  • 2+ years’ experience in inventory control and forecasting/planning is required.
  • Experience working in an IATF16949/ISO/AS9100 certified environment is preferred
  • Ability to communicate both written and orally throughout all levels of the organization and with customers.
  • Experience in planning for low volume/high mix environment.
  • Experience with shop floor reporting systems.
  • Experienced with the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • In-depth knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, preferably QAD manufacturing system.
  • Ability to work as part of a team along with strong decision making and organizational skills.
  • Ability to influence and drive solutions.
  • Strong analytical aptitude and problem solving skills.
  • Must be results oriented, self-motivated, flexible, dynamic, and proactive.

The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $76,300.00 to $117,700.00. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.

Quality Engineer

WHY DO WE NEED YOU ?

Niagara Falls PCR is looking for a Quality Engineer!

The quality engineer will provide quality engineering support for production, prototype production, quoting, operational process control and inspection programs related to contract and customer specifications. Lead and provide analytical, process capability, coordinate measuring machine, computer aided inspection data to support customer requirements and troubleshooting problems. Provide supervision and coaching support to the quality and plant operators for measuring techniques and completion of required documentation. The QE provides basic understanding of engineering principles to assure the technical effectiveness of required inspection functions meet customer requirements/contracts and process requirements utilizing inspection tools, gages, NDE (Non-Destructive Evaluation), CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine), computer aided inspection technology and/or statistical analysis software. This individual will support and assist in the administration of the ISO certified Quality Management System. Specific functions include specifying and purchasing inspection instruments, developing inspection documentation, material testing & analysis, process auditing, NCMR dispositioning (Non-Conforming Material Reporting), corrective/preventive action reporting, process data and capability studies including training of personnel.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS

A Bachelor’s Degree in Ceramics or Materials Engineering, or Industrial Engineering is required.

2-4 years’ experience in a QA manufacturing environment, preferably in refractory, glass, metals or plastics is required.

Able to lead and direct operational and QC resources, including leading problem solving teams.

Must demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels.

Must demonstrate the ability to solve problems absent clear guidelines or protocols in a dynamic environment

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU ?

Knowledge with sampling theory, statistical testing, material testing, quality data reporting, and project work. Important to the position is the familiarity with inspection processes, devices, non-destructive testing techniques, CMM, computer aided inspection technology, data collection and strong computer skills.

Minimum Level II NDE certification or experience desired in penetrant inspection.

Attaining Level II & III certification available with in house training to assure product requirements and resources are qualified to inspect.

The Director, Compensation is a key member of the Saint-Gobain Total Rewards leadership team reporting to the Vice President, Total Rewards. This position is responsible for directing a team of six in managing the strategy, plan design, communications, and administration of the organization’s compensation programs for 19,000 employees in the US and Canada. The Business Development Manager (BDM) will drive sales and build strategic partnerships for Single-Use Systems within the assigned territory and portfolio. Collaborate with all business departments to successfully win profitable projects in line with the business strategy. Contribute to improve and strengthen internal processes to achieve more efficiency and agility.

Collect, analyze and transmit information regarding market evolution and technology trends. Take part in trade shows either as a visitor or exhibitor.

Work with manufacturing operations to provide accurate and timely information regarding customer demand to support sales and service objectives. Provide periodic forecasts used to anticipate overall sales performance. Contribute to the yearly budgeting process and report on variances between sales and monthly objectives.

Impact:

Mfg Machine Operator (Winding Machine)- Primarily responsible for slitting a variety of materials into various widths and lengths to meet customer orders and for further in-house processing. Machine Operator (#4 Coater)- 2nd Shift, Production, Mfg- Tape Solutions

Impact:

#4 Coater Operator operates as part of a 3-4 person team in the processing of PVC, polyethylene and urethane substrates. The operation may include applying solvent-based and water-based adhesives to paper and film in advance of the curing, cooling, and rewinding operations. Operations on the Coater include adhesive depositing, winding, laminating, back stripping, transferring adhesive, inspecting and unloading of processed materials. All operations are dependent on the quality of the previous process and must adhere to all standards as part of the job. Depending on the process being performed, the end product could be either a finished product or require further processing.

Employees are required to work overtime as scheduled. This includes before/after shift or weekend shift.

Each year, based on individual/business performance, employees have the potential to receive annual bonus in March and merit increase in April.

Experience:

  • Relevant manufacturing work experience- Preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs or more- Required
  • Basic computer skills- Required
  • Well organized and able to operate independently or as member of team with minimal supervision- Required
  • Ability to read, interpret, and communicate technical information, oral and written, in English- Required
  • Ability to work overtime- Required

Certain states require pay information be provided in job postings. The local pay range for this position is $20.19 per hour, plus shift differential of $1.00/hr. This hourly pay rate offered can vary depending on location/geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 10% of hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures.

The total annual target cash range (Hourly Pay Rate, Bonus and Shift Differential, annualized (40 hrs/week * 52wks) for this position, is $48,400.

Additional Pay Incentives for this Role Include:

  • Shift Differentials (e. Hourly Rate plus Shift Differential of $1.00/ hr)
  • Standard Overtime (Hourly Rate * 1.5)
  • Daily Overtime (Hourly Rate * 1.5)
