QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Efficient and willingness to perform required work with good attendance and attitude. Understand SOP's relating to the department activities. Good analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills. Must be a team player. Effective communication skills essential - both written and verbal.

Must be able to properly fill out time reporting and work order documentation. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Requires walking, primarily on a level surface throughout the day. May need to climb stairs/steps periodically. May need to stoop or kneel and reach above shoulder heights, below the waist. Lifting as required with proper lifting techniques up to 50 pounds on occasion.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position is in a clean room environment where the use of personal protective equipment such as hearing protection, safety glasses, and safety shoes are mandated. Noise levels and temperatures may vary due to areas accessed. There is some exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals such as alcohol.

Senior Research Engineer I - Mobility ENC

Saint-Gobain Research North America is looking for a talented, and energetic research engineer to join our growing Mobility-Engineered Components team. Saint-Gobain is a world leader in developing innovative, high-performance solutions through our unparalleled expertise in materials solutions for extreme conditions. We are searching for an experienced, hands-on project leader to investigate, research, and develop new materials, including sustainable products and technologies that strengthen our offerings. The new team member will have the opportunity to leverage their engineering and materials expertise by leading their projects from the initial stages of conceptualization, prototyping, and experimental testing to the implementation in manufacturing. Projects will focus on process and product development activities and follow a Gate-based methodology with a focus on design/change control. The candidate is also expected to be seen as a leader within the group that is a resource to other group members and different businesses. Phases of development include ideation, product/process development, pilot, scale-up, and implementation of R&D processes into manufacturing.

The selected candidate will be expected to lead R&D projects through effective collaboration with R&D colleagues, commercial, and manufacturing team members, application engineers, external customers, and external suppliers. The candidate will create and execute project plans, design, and conduct experiments, analyze data, and present findings in written and oral formats. The candidate will act as a materials expert internally to support a variety of programs and platforms in different markets.

The main job duties will include:

  • Manages projects from inception through scale-up. Manages multiple projects simultaneously, on time, well documented, and within budget. Able to balance creativity with process and documentation.
  • Extensively utilizes research and/or project experiences and broad expertise of high temperature/high-performance polymers, materials, processes, techniques, and products to improve on or develop products, increase performance, or reduce costs, to maximize production and/or support fundamental research within high-performance polymers such as polyimides, polyamide-imide and polyaryl ketones as well as engineering polymers.
  • Incumbent defines the associated tasks and milestones for research and proposes the technical approach, cost estimates, and time schedule. Upon approval, the incumbent is responsible for equipment purchases, prototype development, supervision of the project team, and compilation of results and recommendations
  • Stays aware of new technology applications and competitive uses of same in work with materials, products, and processes, and in the development of new knowledge.
  • Seeks out others to enhance and streamline development and decision-making.
  • Keeps project teams on track with project timelines and budgets.
  • Understands Gate Process methodology/ideology and utilizes and incorporates it in research projects

COMPETENCIES:

  • Demonstrates an open and collaborative approach in all areas of responsibility.
  • Able to communicate technically with internal competencies and university collaborators and utilize knowledge to advance projects and identify productive synergies.

Job Duties:

  • Run efficient production lines, problem-solving to ensure products meet quality specifications, including checking product and equipment frequently, making immediate adjustments or changes to lines when needed.
  • Keep lines and production floor clean and free of debris and stocked for the incoming shift.

Maintain inspection and process records. performs various inspection tasks using handheld measuring instruments and precision measurement equipment. Must be proficient at reading and interpreting drawings and specifications. Should also be familiar with sampling plans for inspection. The Quality Technician may support Receiving Inspection, Shipping Inspection, Final Inspection, Calibration, MRB, and Material Testing Laboratory. Some inspections may take place in a cleanroom environment either onsite or offsite.

Senior Master Data Analyst

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

This position supports shared services activities for internal customers of the Shared Service Center (“SSC”) as governed by the customer Master Service Agreement (“MSA”) and Statement of Work (“SOW”).  This role will serve as the Senior Master Data Analyst for several business units who are internal customers of the SSC and will engage with Business Units to drive continuous improvement, adoption of processes and standards in alignment with corporate policies.

  • Manage the oversight process for the master data function including: monitoring for adherence to compliance to procedures; creating and managing incident tickets; recommend and implement control process enhancements; monitoring for completeness, timeliness and accuracy of activity.
  • Recommend changes to methods or procedures to meet operational needs, improve accuracy, and further streamline processes.
  • Ensure key metrics are completed and shared with BU monthly.
  • Provide inputs and recommendations for process and technology issue resolution.
  • Work with the Service Provider and SG teams to ensure all workflow tools are operational and there are no issues that will negatively impact the timely processing of disbursements.  
  • Periodic review of key vendors' scorecard to determine where roadblocks are occurring.
  • Lead user acceptance testing of system changes to workflow tools.
  • Assist Manager with coordinating SSC actions on a monthly basis including participating in monthly accounts payable meetings with BU FD and Procurement Directors providing performance summary including KPI’s, key vendor issues, vendor problem resolution status, control matters and forward planning matters.
  • Work with Manager to ensure SOW commitments of timeliness, cost, quality, consistency, and reliability of information are delivered as agreed to in the SOW.
  • Assist with managing and resolving any strategic service issues between SSC
  • Audit master data in the ERP system

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

  • This position is required to work at our Malvern, PA office two days per week.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting, or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of master data management experience in a mid-size to large company. Prior experience servicing internal customers in a shared service organization is a plus.
  • Experience with integrated ERP and financial reporting systems. SAP and QAD a plus.
  • Experience with large data sets and applications including analysis thereof
  • Exposure to internal controls
  • Ability to operate within established accounting, reporting and statutory guidelines.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Experience in working with outsourced team members across company, geography, time zone and culture is a plus.

Analyst, AP

The Analyst, AP supports shared services activities for internal customers of the Shared Service Center (“SSC”) as governed by the customer Master Service Agreement (“MSA”) and Statement of Work (“SOW”).  This role will serve as the primary accounts payable contact for several business units who are internal customers of the SSC and will engage with Business Units to drive continuous improvement, adoption of processes and standards in alignment with corporate policies.  

This position will also have oversight of the activities performed by Service Provider and to ensure their timely and accurate processing of disbursement runs in accordance with established procedures and internal controls.

  • Support the Service Provider in assisting with complex questions or situations, oversight of Service Provider and working with both internal customers and external suppliers to answer queries or provide support.
  • Ensure the SSC performs all elements defined in the Statement of work as part of the Master Services Agreement between the SSC and our business partners.
  • Partner with Saint Gobain businesses and vendors to find resolution for eliminating paper and sending via email or through the vendor portal. Ensure paper documents are properly processed and archived as required to meet country-specific statutory laws.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable internal controls both by the SSC and the Service Provider.
  • Project-oriented work includes continuous improvement through process change and standardization. Provide SSC representation on BU financial system projects including new implementations, upgrades, TPA integrations, acquisition integrations, divestitures, etc.
  • Work with business units on formalized procedures establishing tolerance levels and the employees authorized to approve any variances outside of the tolerance levels. Ensure Service Provider has up-to-date information and is following established tolerances.
  • Provide inputs and recommendations for process and technology issue resolution.

  • This is a hybrid position requiring two days (Tuesdays and Thursdays) in our Malvern, PA office.
  • Minimum of three years of accounts payable, general accounting and/or relevant experience in a mid-size to large company preferred.  Prior experience servicing internal customers in a shared service organization is a plus.

What’s the job?

The Hot Process Manager will oversee the process engineering activities of the plant, with a focus on batch, binder, furnace, fiberizing, and curing oven operations. This role involves problem-solving and identifying operational issues within the Hot Process Areas, directing process personnel to produce quality products, and collaborating with similar roles within the IPG Group to achieve optimal plant performance. They ensure good housekeeping practices following 5S systems, enforce plant rules, safety regulations, and company policies. They adhere to and ensure adherence to PPE, permits, JSAs, purchasing requirements, vendor agreements, payment policies and safe work practices.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the development of plant process/improvement roadmaps.
  • Provide technical support for major process issues.
  • Support new product and raw material introduction.
  • Drive process innovation.
  • Provide process expertise to help the plant establish and achieve key process standards.
  • Drive performance improvement through standardization.
  • Work closely with the other two plants and R&D for process support.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Manager to establish robust process control at the site.
  • Maintain awareness of problems, needs, and occurrences within the plant.
  • Interact with other plants and corporate engineering to develop control methods supporting production efforts.
  • Oversee activities including batch, binder, furnace, and fiberizing.
  • Develop and implement action plans for process control and long-term continuous process improvement.
  • Ensure production quality by enforcing process discipline in the hot process areas.
  • Forecast parameters affecting daily operations in the Hot End Process area.
  • Manage the duties and responsibilities of assigned process engineers.
  • Provide training, set goals, and develop methods for measuring performance against those goals. 
  • Handle any process or safety issues that may arise, some on-call responsibilities 24 hours a day.
