The Hot Molding Tech will produce quality product according to production schedule as a Hot Molding Technician.  Process hot molded material per the work order instructions. Strong mechanic aptitude.  Able to use tape measure, tooling, ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.  Forklift Certified (preferred). Able to interpret router per work order instructions.   Proficient in power tools usage (grinders and power tools).  Duties include cleaning of toolings, weight materials, operating press, loading, and unloading oven.  Works in a team environment, strong work ethic, and a self-starter.  Must adhere to all quality and safety policy procedures.  

Maintains 5s workspace before, during, and after each scheduled shift. 

 

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS

High School/GED diploma, Preferred

2+ years experience in manufacturing, Required

2+ years Hot molding experience is Preferred

1+ years experience Blueprint & Dimensional readying Required

Forklift Experience is preferred

The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $48,048to $64,064. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.

This is an-onsite position and is based out of our manufacturing facility in Bristol, RI.

As a Senior Solutions Engineer, the candidate will work on and lead projects focusing on part design, process design and materials selection as they pertain to the manufacturing of critical engineered components such as spring-energized seals, metal cased lip seals, metal seals and others. The candidate is expected to lead the engineering services (include both simulation and testing) and interface with customers and our internal commercial teams.

In addition, the candidate develops advanced digital engineering tools leveraging machine learning and AI. The candidate is also expected to be seen as a leader within the group that is a resource to other group members and helps to develop and train others within the group.

  • Identify, analyze, and provide technical solutions for critical engineered component product development problems through engineering simulation and analysis.
  • Identify, develop, and apply state-of-art simulation methods (numerical, analytical or closed-form) to establish thermal/mechanical conditions, tribology, leakage, fatigue, wear and aging of materials/products in application conditions.
  • Coordinate the roll-out of simulation engineering services by establishing cost guidelines, marketing material, case studies, communication and training material and lead on the testing service capabilities development.
  • Participate in TechDays and meetings with customers to promote and explain our simulation capabilities.
  • Lead the simulation engineering services, in particular for Space markets by working with DSM, marketing and customers, define projects and scope, construct, analyze and debug models, conduct model parameterization, model and analyze data and present results
  • Explore and identify suitable prediction and optimization platform with versatile visualization functions through close collaborations with universities, engineering simulation software companies, and the open source community, and work with IT to deploy it internally.
  • Work on model development and data generation for engineering computation programs.
  • Follow and evaluate new advancements in the field and actively introduce relevant new technologies.
  • Ability to use numerical simulation to optimize parts and components design and new manufacturing processes to expand the markets into which critical engineered solutions are sold.
  • Interact across a broad range of levels, expertise, and geographic regions.
  • Lead and participate in collaborative work and testing with local universities, outside companies and various R&D groups as needed.
  • Establish and shift priorities as needed to meet commitments and project deliverables.

What do you bring?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, or other related disciplines with a minimum of 12+ years’ experience, or Master Science degree with 7+ years of experience, or PhD with 3+ years plus demonstrated technical judgment/accomplishments.
  • 3+ years of hands on experience with simulation, materials, manufacturing processes in an industrial or research setting. Design/process assessment using numerical simulation, material properties and applications, component design
  • Experience in numerical simulation, particularly with FEM, and statistical design as it relates to part design, mechanical behavior and composites systems.
  • Experience with but not limited to Abaqus, Ansys, COMSOL, Python and web-based application development etc.
  • Experience in SolidWorks and AutoCad to design parts.
  • Knowledge of engineered polymers (blends, process, mechanics etc.)

Pay Transparency:

Engineered Components division is specialized in manufacturing of high-performance polymer plain lubricated & self-lubricated bearings, seals and related precision products, which have been widely applied in automotive, bicycle, electronics, O&G, OA equipment, semiconductor equipment, aerospace and general industry various kinds of applications.

We are looking for a Research Engineer with careful attention to details and excellent organization, communication, and problem solving skills. This role is to support the current research team in conducting hands-on laboratory experiments for key development programs. Phases of development include pilot, scale-up, and implementation of R&D processes into manufacturing. Projects will focus on process and product development activities related to Bearings and Seals businesses. This role will also be required to conduct product testing including physical and mechanical property measurements as well as performance testing related to the application using a range of analytical and specialized test equipment. This position requires interaction with different internal groups in different sites, locally and globally, as well as external customers and suppliers.

ROLE SUMMARY

Under the direction of the team leader, the candidate will design, run experiments, produce lab scale samples, operate pilot equipment, perform manufacturing trials, and analyze the experimental outcome. In addition to designing experiments for the candidate’s primary projects, the candidate will be expected to conduct experiments to support projects led by others.

  • Utilizes basic scientific or engineering principles and techniques to undertake specific tasks and projects with limited scope.
  • Manages and documents projects effectively with supervision.
  • Demonstrates open and collaborative approach in all areas of responsibility.
  • Seeks out others to enhance and streamline development and decision making.
  • Incumbent will be required to submit technical reports on project progress and results.
  • Understands Gate Process methodology/ideology and utilizes and incorporates it in research projects.

COMPETENCES

  • Proficient with MS office tools. AutoCAD skill with design experience is a plus.
  • 1~2 years of laboratory experience working with various equipment (i.e. Polymer extrusion, compounding and injection molding) preferred.
  • Knowledge in sustainable materials (i.e. biosourced polymers and green chemistry) preferred.
  • General knowledge in experimental design and statistical analysis preferred.

  • Develops and maintains sound business relationships with Engineering’s Customers, Vendors, Suppliers and contract resources and ensures alignment with our needs and expectations.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers.
