Summary

 

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the successful candidate will primarily build skids and crates in the woodshop. Additional responsibilities include operating forklifts, nail guns, saws, and other power tools safely and efficiently.

 

  • Shift Schedule: Monday to Friday, 3:00pm-12:00am
  • Salary: $22.72/hr

 

Job Duties

 

  • Working safely according to Agway Health and Safety Procedures;
  • Operate nail guns and saws in a responsible manner;
  • Operate the cardboard and plastic wrapping machines;
  • Build skids and crates;
  • Operate the forklift for the purpose of moving material throughout the facility;
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience with tools such as: nail guns (mandatory), mitre saw, circular saw, measuring tape (Imperial Measures);
  • Experience in the construction, renovation or general carpentry work (preferred);
  • Experience with driving Counterbalance Forklift and/or Combi-Lift – inhouse training offered;
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25kg), walk, and stand for extended periods of time;
  • Ensure proper use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times, including the use of dual hearing protection in the woodshop;
  • Strong workmanship, show great efficiency and attention to quality and productivity;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Maintain a tidy workspace and demonstrate strong organizational skills.

What’s the job?

Production Operators are responsible for producing, designing, crafting, wood ceiling tiles by operating specialized equipment and using specialized tools.

  • Set up, operate, and load Finishing machine.
  • Determine best method of shaping/assembling parts working from shop drawings, blueprints or supervisor’s instructions.
  • Cut, shape, and smooth wooden parts.
  • Verify dimensions using caliper or rule.
  • Add fasteners and adhesives and connect the pieces to form a complete unit.
  • Sand products using sander or sandpaper.
  • Set up operate and tend UV equipment for UV coating application.
  • Stain or coat products with lacquer or varnish.
  • Complete all stages of woodworking process.
  • Ensure wood isn't warped, cracked, or swollen.
  • Apply paint to raw wood.
  • Performs other related duties that contribute to the success of the operation as assigned by supervisor.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm

Participants spend 80% of their time on local site projects and 20% on EOM program activities.

Many of these activities are designed to accelerate career development and long-term professional growth, including virtual and classroom training, hands-on learning experiences, and a wide range of networking opportunities. Participation in training sessions and quarterly events is mandatory to complete the program. Participants are expected to attend all activities unless exceptional circumstances arise.

While start dates may vary, the EOM program officially begins each July and concludes 18 months later, in December of the following year. After completing the program, EOM engineers work closely with our dedicated HR team to identify an operational role at one of our 160 sites across North America. While placement is not guaranteed, most graduates of the EOM program are able to choose from multiple opportunities within Saint-Gobain.

Whether you're starting your career or looking to transition into the manufacturing field, our 18-month Essentials of Manufacturing (EOM) program represents the first step in your journey with us. This program is part of a full-time, permanent position and supports the first 18 months of your career at Saint-Gobain.

Program Overview:

Our 18-month development program places participants in a full-time operational role, giving them the opportunity to strengthen their manufacturing skills while gaining exposure to Saint-Gobain North America. Each participant is assigned to a manufacturing site for 18 months and travels quarterly to other Saint-Gobain facilities across North America. Participants spend 80% of their time on local site projects and 20% on EOM program activities.

Many of these activities are designed to accelerate career development and long-term professional growth, including virtual and classroom training, hands-on learning experiences, and a wide range of networking opportunities. Participation in training sessions and quarterly events is mandatory to complete the program. Participants are expected to attend all activities unless exceptional circumstances arise.

While start dates may vary, the EOM program officially begins each July and concludes 18 months later, in December of the following year. After completing the program, EOM engineers work closely with our dedicated HR team to identify an operational role at one of our 160 sites across North America. While placement is not guaranteed, most graduates of the EOM program are able to choose from multiple opportunities within Saint-Gobain.

  • Providing engineering support for site process improvements.
  • Supporting capital expenditure projects/ new equipment installations.

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for all aspects of supply chain management for the Clearwater, FL manufacturing facility. This position controls purchasing of materials and services, materials planning, production scheduling, inventory levels, kitting of materials for orders, and packaging, receiving and shipping. On time delivery to promise and request dates, lead times, inventory turns and the dollar value of inventory are key measures for this position. Timely and efficient arrival of raw materials is key to meeting the on-time delivery goals. The Supply Chain Manager controls materials and production schedules to successfully balance production requirements, inventory turnover and purchase prices. Environmental, Health and Safety Manager

Are you passionate about creating a safe, healthy, and sustainable workplace? As our EHS Manager, you’ll report directly to the Plant Manager and lead the development and execution of comprehensive safety and environmental programs. Your role will shape the plant’s culture by ensuring regulatory compliance, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a proactive, engaged workforce that prioritizes safety and environmental responsibility. From incident management and emergency preparedness to compliance and stewardship, your leadership will make safety a shared priority across the organization.

  • Lead with Purpose: Direct and implement EHS programs that establish a proactive and sustainable safety approach.
  • Cultivate a Safety Culture: Inspire employees to prioritize safety and take ownership of doing the right thing.
  • Drive Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local EHS regulations, while aligning with corporate and plant standards.
  • Strategic Development: Execute plant and company EHS goals, including annual plans with measurable objectives and progress tracking.
  • Empower Teams: Provide guidance to managers, supervisors, and employees through coaching, training, and safety meetings.
  • Incident Management: Lead investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to eliminate hazards.
  • Safety Program Ownership: Manage programs such as ProAct and GenSuite, ensuring communication and adoption across the plant.
  • Employee Engagement: Build an involved workforce that actively participates in safety initiatives.
  • Environmental Stewardship: Manage permitting and compliance while advancing plant environmental goals.
  • Audit Leadership: Coordinate audits, develop corrective and preventive actions, and raise environmental awareness.
  • Workers’ Compensation: Partner with HR to administer claims, controls, and hearings for work-related injuries.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Maintain and update response and business continuity plans for various scenarios.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner across departments to identify hazards, update Risk Assessments, JSAs, and MOC processes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly review and enhance safety measures, address ergonomic risks, and strengthen MOC completion.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the plant’s EHS expert, guiding innovative solutions that strengthen overall safety culture.

  • Four-year degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Five years’ experience in Safety, Environmental management, or related field.
  • Three years in manufacturing industry or high volume distribution
  • Understands safety beyond lost time injury metrics.
  • Experience as culture champion and change agent for involvement and engagement in EHS programs.
  • Skilled in root cause analysis processes (5Y, Fishbone, etc.)
  • Professional certifications and licenses, such as:
    • American Society of Safety Engineers;
    • National Safety Council; or
    • SWPPP Operator/SARA/CERCLA/RCRA certified through a nationally-recognized
