The Site Controller will ensure adherence to financial policies and ICRF controls, improving internal business processes, such as loss deployment, to support Saint-Gobain Life Sciences' growth & profitability model. Will play key leadership role providing financial analyses and recommendations to the Plant Manager and ensure the sites/teams' efforts are aligned to strategic objectives.

  • Will lead the annual forecast, budget, plan process at the site and providing accurate explanations of significant variances, including analysis of actual vs. budget and/or forecast. Focus on timely month-end results/reporting but importantly strategic planning to ensure the business is growing profitability.
  • Will manage the processes of the month-end close to ensure alignment of the HPS/LS deadlines, prepare, approve general entries/reconciliations (as needed/required), and ensure accuracy/integrity of the balance sheet (quality of working capital, changes in fixed assets, etc.). Lead the annual standard cost development process for the site to ensure transparency of cost/margin. Ensure all plant accounting activities comply with the processes outlined in the ICRF, IFRS, HPS/LS policies, and sound business practices.
  • Month-end close in QAD, DSS inputs, reconciliations/upload to Blackline, coordinating & preparing internal financial reporting (Monthly GM report – Operational analysis of scrap, labor & overhead cost/variances, Monthly Presentations – Trends/Risks & Opportunities, weekly flash, mid-month pulse checks, etc.).
  • Support LS & Operations Controller with the AD HOC requests, annual plan, budget & standard cost development process. Proactively interact with supervisors, plant leadership team as well as senior management to ensure all parties have a clear and accurate picture of the plant’s overall financial performance.
  • Support CI/WCM initiatives (participation in Kaizen’s, problem-solving events) ensuring countermeasures, projects are defined with clear financial objectives & results are tracked and reported accordingly. Lead loss deployment and Co-manage along with the project manager the capital process & provide guidance/assistance preparing Madison’s, CARs…Create forward-looking financial reviews/assessments, including models, cost/benefit, margin impact, etc.
  • Lead the annual completion of the ICRF gap analysis & ensure the execution of action plans, adherence - Segregation of Duties, system/access controls are in place. Evaluate site internal controls.
  • Coordinate physical inventory and cycle count program to achieve site and SBU goals.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree - Accounting, Finance or Related Field; Required.
  • Master's Degree - Business, Accounting, Finance or Related Field; Preferred.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience working in a Manufacturing/Plant environment within cost accounting/controllership capacity; Required.
  • 7+ years of experience working within/supporting a Corporate Finance function; Required.  
  • Experience with ERP Systems (i.e. SAP, QAD, Oracle); Required.

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position which is $102,000 to $158,000 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 13% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $115,260 to $178,540. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.

Fire Testing Engineer II - Building Science

  • Saint-Gobain Research North America is currently looking for a Fire Testing Engineer for our new fire testing facility located in Northboro, MA, to support product development and commercialization of building materials for residential and commercial construction.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Fire Testing Engineer II will be responsible for the construction and fire testing of building materials and systems in accordance with industry standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Fire testing in accordance with industry standards (ASTM, UL, NFPA, etc…).
  • Development and maintenance of laboratory processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintenance and operation of fire test furnaces, including engineering and emission controls.
  • Installation and operation of sensors, including accompanying hardware and software, in accordance with industry standards
  • Material procurement, management and handling including construction of wall and floor test assemblies.
  • Drafting test reports that include the properties/details of the materials and/or system, detailed drawings and bill of materials of the assemblies, and test results as specified by the applied standards
  • Identify potential environmental health and safety issues by reviewing safety data sheets of materials and the design of the assemblies prior to testing. Should be able to distinguish between standard designs and novel constructions with no prior testing history.

  • Strong analytical and fact-finding skills; ability to recognize and understand issues.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, expected to be concise and scientifically relevant and accurate.
  • Strong project management skills, including management of materials, resources, and schedules.

Shift Supervisor

The shift supervisor is responsible for managing and implementing all production operations and shop activities for assigned departments. Responsible for daily supervision of department employees. Working in conjunction with Engineering to ensure high quality products are produced in a safe and efficient manner while maximizing capacity with minimum cost.

The shift supervisor position is responsible for supervising, coaching and developing shop employees in the manufacturing environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. This position requires strong leadership and people skills with the ability to grasp technical concepts and translate to effectively mentor employees and achieve production department KPIs. This role may require participating in the hiring process as needed and will be responsible for discipline and documentation of 2nd shift employees. This position also requires the ability to effectively interact with diverse groups of professionals and cultures within and outside of the company.

  • Works independently and holds employees accountable for following procedures and achieving results.  Ensures production equipment is kept in safe working condition. Enforces all safety procedures and policies.
  • Responsible for performance management of employees. Monitors individual performance levels.  
  • Conducts and leads team meetings and coordinates team support activities; communicating issues pertaining to the department and/or company. Responsible for providing leadership and training to employees in the areas of process improvement, root cause analysis, and process control. Coaching and developing of direct reports.
  • Responsible for all technical aspects related to production on 2nd shift including set-up of new jobs, interpretation of drawings, troubleshooting problems associated with dimensional variances, decisions to stop production based upon quality related problems and minor maintenance of machines. This position will also be responsible for participating in hiring processes when needed as well as discipline and documentation for employees on 2nd  shift.
  • Audits production areas to ensure processes and procedures are being followed in safety, cleanroom, process and 5S methodologies. Implements lean manufacturing concepts, techniques and processes, providing continuous performance improvement.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to work effectively in team environments, including coaching, developing, and training team members.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and empower others, as well as effectively resolve conflicts.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in managing rapidly changing priorities and supporting operational needs in alignment with departmental and company goals.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, a Technical field, or Business Administration.
    • Note: A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an ISO-certified environment.
  • Proficiency in QAD, MQ1, or similar enterprise applications.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or World Class Manufacturing principles.

Logistics Operator

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:

The primary function of the Logistics Operator is for the purpose of unloading incoming material and loading of customer orders going out for shipment in the warehouse areas. This includes the picking and preparation of packaging for the material going to the customer’s location.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Picks and prepares customer orders for outbound pick-ups using warehouse management tools and following company procedures such as FIFO.
  • Loads materials into trucks and installs padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using forklifts.
  • Maintaining effective performance of activities and able to respond to fluctuating workloads and completion of all work orders accurately.
  • Receives raw materials per procedures and inventory which includes receiving in IMT (SAP) systems.
  • Confer and correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems such as damages, shortages and non -conformances to specifications.
  • Processes documents, scrap authorizations transfers, and shuttling to and from other branches.
  • Responsible for performing SMATs and/or TFs and be an active participant in all other facility audit, manufacturing and efficiency programs. This includes WCM involvement in projects and/or meetings, as required. Incumbents are responsible for ensuring 5S standards are met and maintained. Incumbent is required to clean, paint, etc. to maintain 5S standards.
  • Take direction from Logistics Lead and Logistics & Planning Manager.

Provided is the national pay range for this position which is $78,000 to $117,000 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 30% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. On-Site Infrastructure Technician

The Take Off Operator in our Seattle, Washington plant is primarily responsible to use machines according to safety standards in the area of the production line that stacks, tapes, and bundles gypsum wallboard board together for outbound shipments to customers. The successful candidate will also be responsible to add spacers (known as sluetters) between stacks of bundled wallboard, performing timely quality inspections on a regular schedule using an internal computer and written system(s), ensuring the accuracy of production count, and transporting the bundled gypsum wallboard to the correct area of the warehouse using a forklift.

This position reports directly to the Shift Performance Manager and works independently and within a team setting.

Shift:  7:00pm-7:00am
Pay: $28.16 per hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Champions a safety-first environment and keeps up to date on new safety policies, procedures, and initiatives
  • Performs quality checks per the quality control plan and escalates issues to Line Production Lead if required
  • Safely operates bundler and stacker machines and tools to produce wallboard according to quality and specification standards
  • Properly adds 8 lbs. sluetters between bundled wallboard for each load according to standards and places sluetters in the warehouse for load placement. Re-supplies sluetters at takeoff using a fork truck
  • Adheres to Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures to help address mechanical issues or upset conditions
  • Performs daily fork truck inspection and refuel as needed
  • Places wallboard loads in warehouse properly with forklift adhering to all safety rules and traffic guidelines
  • Clear rejected wallboard from the reject stacker with forklift
  • Maintains an accurate wallboard count making sure every wallboard is of good quality, ensure culled boards are accounted for according to systems and procedures
  • Assists with troubleshooting responses to problems or breakdowns in the Take Off area and on the lines as required
  • Adheres to all housekeeping standards and ensures workspace is clean, safe, and in working order within assigned area(s)
  • Maintains in-depth and ongoing knowledge of assigned equipment, work area(s), procedural and safety updates
  • Works well with others in a team environment
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures
  • Changes out end tape, zip tape, and other consumables on the machine as required
  • Assists with projects and administrative paperwork including recording and entering data into established systems, monthly Safety Management Audit Tool (SMATs), inventory tracking, damage and injury reports, and World Class Manufacturing (WCM) work area improvement projects.
  • Participates in daily pre-shift meetings
  • Participates as required in AIB board meetings and completes AIB tasks as required
