Scope: The Quality Technician has primary responsibility for the timely inspection, testing/evaluation of manufactured or received parts, products, samples, etc. related to production of bearings as assigned including PPAP creation. This position utilizes specific inspection tools and requires knowledge of automotive industry quality requirements and interpretation of data analysis. Completion of appropriate inspection and test records, maintenance of computer software database(s), and generation of Certificates of Compliance and SPC data are an integral part of these responsibilities.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

Responsibilities:

  • Perform specimen preparation, dimensional and physical property inspection/testing according to written SOP’s and Work Instructions, and Test Procedures.
  • Determine acceptability of material by comparing test/inspection results to requirements (specifications).
  • Complete and maintain written records, record files, and computer databases as required by SOP’s, Work Instructions, and Test Procedures.
  • Perform Equipment Calibration and Verification assignments according to written procedures to assure accuracy of test and inspection results. Train and Evaluate “Calibration inspectors” as directed. 
  • Prepare, generate, and approve Certificates of Compliance and, where necessary SPC data, for submission with product shipments.
  • Interpret drawings, specifications, test methods, control plans, and sampling plans as necessary.
  • Develop necessary PPAP submission data and information packages per AIAG or customer specific requirements.
  • Perform product and other Internal Audits as directed.
  • Clean and maintain work areas, gauges, equipment, and instrumentation as scheduled or required.
  • Communicate and cooperate with fellow employees to maintain quality, operational efficiency and safety.
  • Exhibit safety awareness and safe work practices.
  • Report nonconformance condition (either product or process) to supervision as required.
  • Participate in self-development and training of others.
  • Perform other related duties as required or as directed by supervisor.
  • Understand all environmental policies and significant environmental impact of job activities in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard.

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Technical or Scientific discipline (or working towards a degree).

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the pay rate for this position which is $25 per hour, plus 2nd shift differential of $1/hr. This hourly pay rate offered can vary depending on location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 10% of hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures. The total annual target cash range (Hourly Pay Rate plus Bonus, annualized (40 hrs/week * 52wks)) for this position, is $53,700 to $65,200.  Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.

Sustainability & CE Policy and Advocacy Manager

This role will work closely with the Saint-Gobain North America Region businesses, ESG group and other relevant internal and external stakeholders to develop internal and public policy positions as it relates to sustainability and the development of circular economy models for each of the businesses. The role will develop these positions into internal and external policies and will be responsible for communicating these positions internally and externally. This is a senior role that will be required to have a broad knowledge of our businesses, ESG issues relevant to those businesses and working knowledge of how public policy and customer preference impact our ability to work toward our mission of being the leader in light and sustainable construction as well as our purpose to make the world a better home.

Domains of expertise: broad sustainability knowledge, waste management and circularity, decarbonization, energy efficiency, renewables, sustainable construction; public policy; communications; extended producer responsibility.

Essential Functions

  • Policy/Advocacy position/plan development and implementation
    • Develop the advocacy, public affairs strategy plans and papers consistent with SGNA and Group business objectives to shape the work of trade associations, as well as advocating for Saint-Gobain’s interests.
    • Work with the Law Department to establish and follow guidelines and procedures for conducting policy, advocacy, and government funding activities in compliance with all relevant state and federal laws and internal company policy on lobbying, competition, and government contracts, minimizing risk to the company.
  • Policy tracking and analysis
    • Create, maintain and monitor policies and accompany legislative initiatives and policy trends in the fields of sustainability, ESG, circular economy, buildings and construction.
    • Implement new sustainability policies across businesses, including Extended Producer Responsibility laws in North America based on targeted research needs and policy research.
  • Communications and stakeholder management
    • Lead a working group of representatives while proactively engaging with policymakers, stakeholders and internal/external advocacy networks to engage in relevant non-legislative initiatives around sustainable construction (Green building rating tools, Environmental Product Declarations, etc.).

  • 2 years + experience working for a manufacturer preferred.
  • Knowledge of institutional processes in the US at federal and state levels. Previous government relations, trade/industry group experience and/or direct government experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of the key industry associations, nonprofits, agencies, and advocates in sustainable construction, climate policy, and circular economy.
  • Familiarity and experience with research and monitoring tools for legislation, regulations and other agency actions at the state and federal level.
  • Knowledge of the primary non-regulatory standards, certifications, and rating systems related to sustainable construction.
  • Strong commitment to professional ethics and compliance.
  • Compliance and adherence to Saint-Gobain principles of behavior and actions, and attitudes.
  • Experience with extended producer responsibility programs preferred.

Warehouse Associate - 2nd Shift

The SageGlass Warehouse Associate provides continuous support to production and contributes to the efficiency in which it is managed. This position involves using forklifts and other heavy machinery to load/unload trucks/trailers and to move materials about the facility as necessary. Principal Scientist/Group Leader - Granules

Saint-Gobain’s CertainTeed R&D center is looking for driven, talented, and experienced Principal Scientist/Group Leader to join their team.

The Granules Principal Scientist/Team Leader leads the overall R&D efforts for granules technology. This includes leading the portfolio of granules projects including granule innovation, sustainability, new materials and business continuity supporting raw material qualification, granule plant process support and granule color control and runnability at the shingle plants. The team leader will drive projects within the portfolio to industrialization. The granules team leader will be responsible for lab safety within the granules lab and to build the safety culture in the broader MIC environment. Essential Functions

  • Manages multiple projects simultaneously, on time, well documented and within budget to meet business and customer objectives. Manages and documents projects effectively under minimal supervision by a technical leader or direct manager. Data and results are to be presented in oral and written form. Includes the generation of project timelines/plans, technical memos, research reports, and presentations to internal customers, project teams, and/or management.
  • Lead a group of engineers/technicians (admin work, support on technical aspect and provide guidance). Incumbent defines the associated tasks and milestones for research, and proposes the technical approach, cost estimates, and timeline.
  • Lead and/or execute strategic assignments related to either plant technology or equipment or business development, by performing analyses, setting up action plans and coordinating/executing such actions that are necessary to achieve the business goal.
  • Industrialize new technologies into granule and shingle plants ensuring safety, scalability and long-term process capability.

  • Proven track record of bringing materials to industrial scale and successful product commercialization.

  • Must have experience in a manufacturing environment and understand the principles of continuous production processes.
  • Six Sigma GB Certification is preferred.

The employee must effectively direct, motivate, and coordinate packing activities of the vinyl siding plant to optimize packing with quality, safety, and cleanliness requirements.

Inspect and package all vinyl siding and accessories that may be produced within the manufactured area. Performs several different operations toward the completion of the manufactured process.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Sets up boxes for use in packaging and inspects siding and accessories for visual defects as material is extruded.
  • Notifies appropriate personnel of undesirable changes or quality problems as they occur.
  • Packs products into boxes in the specified quantity and arrangement.
  • Applies glue, seals boxes for proper adhesive setup, assures that finished package has neat appearance, stacks product on finished product rack.
  • Responsible for labeling of finished product including correct product carton number, acceptable verification, color and applicable codes.
  • Rejects defective products and has ability to measure such material against established standards and documented specifications.
  • Conducts all quality inspections at specified time intervals and documents such inspections on appropriate paperwork.

We are seeking a highly motivated, hands on, results oriented engineer. The Manufacturing Engineer II will be responsible for the planning, development, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and processes for new and existing products (resilient metallic seals).

Primary responsibility will be to provide close engineering support to the Production floor. This support will include utilizing sound technical knowledge of materials, processes, techniques and products to improve on product performance and to reduce costs, to maximize production, and support new knowledge. The incumbent manages and documents projects effectively under minimal supervision by a technical leader, demonstrates an open and collaborative approach in all areas of responsibility, and seeks out others to enhance and streamline development and decision making.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with the site team and operators to establish stable and repeatable manufacturing processes. Solve real time problems in processing with equipment and tooling. Implement workable solutions in both the short and long term so that failure modes are effectively understood and eliminated.
  • Support the development of all internal drawings and process control documentation for all new processes including work instructions, inspection plans, and engineering prints.
  • Project Management – Responsible for small to medium projects assigned. Project objectives involve the extension of present technology, involving improvement of products, processes and new knowledge with some level of complexity.
  • Use Solidworks software as required to design/modify and detail machining fixtures, tooling, and stampings tools. Ensure that the design meets customer print and specification requirements as required, and that the designs are optimized for safety, manufacturability, assembly, and production use.
  • Provide support to production and the tool room with tool/fixture designs, modifications, or assembly. Communicate the intent of the design or assembly to ease installation and use.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration with customers, sales, quality, operations, purchasing and planning to drive projects to completion within lead time and budget.
  • Regulatory documentation for validation, CAPA, and procedures.
  • Other projects as assigned.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

The successful candidate should possess the following requirements:

  • A Bachelors degree in engineering or similar discipline is required.
  • Advanced technical knowledge associated with a Master’s Degree would be a plus
  • 3+ years’ work experience in an engineering capacity in a manufacturing environment.
  • Practical / Technical knowledge of Welding Engineering is advantageous.
  • Proven track record of project development and management.
  • Analytical, logical, and data driven with demonstrated troubleshooting skills as it relates to production equipment.

The Mill/Braid Operator is responsible for safely operating both the mill and braiding machines. The Mill/Braid Operator will use the mill machine to compound silicone raw silicone to provide to the Extrusion Operators. The Operator must mill batches, up to 40 lbs., using the two-roll mill, to mix material per the routing notes, SOPs, MOPs, or batch records. Operator must also visually inspect product to ensure parts are clean and free of any dirt, hair, or particulate before supplying to the Extrusion department.

The Mill/Braid Operator will also be responsible for braiding reinforced silicone tubing using the braiding machine. This Operator must also record in-process inspections and verifications using Good Documentation Practices (GDP). Proficient at the operation, OJT & trouble-shooting processes/equipment in the mill/braid department. Operator is expected to safely produce the highest quality products in the silicone industry, following the standards of operation as set forth by SGPPL, Beaverton.

Job Summary
QA Inspectors compare in process and finished goods to established specifications; reports variance to Coordinator.

Essential Functions:

  • Compare first piece produced on equipment set-up for conformance to specification.
  • Write detailed inspection report in compliance with GMP standard on parts, products and processes that fail inspection; investigates scope of the failure and forward report to Coordinator for disposition.
  • Use working knowledge of inspection techniques to determine most accurate method of comparing measurements of complex parts to blueprint and specification.
  • Compare measurements, form, fit, function and value judgments of simple and complex parts to blueprint, specifications and general workmanship standards using documents, experience and knowledge of inspection techniques.
  • Utilize statistical process control where applicable.
  • Assist in orientation of new technicians and inspection processes, as necessary.
  • Assist in ensuring proper calibration of equipment and measuring instruments.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Maintain proper levelof supplies (office and inspection) to prevent depletion This includes reordering task
  • Carry out formulated plans, policies and procedures of the department per GMP regulations
