What’s the Job?

Under the direction of the Regional Quality Manager (West), this position is responsible for the leadership and direction of quality initiatives along with performance of products manufactured in the Roofing plant of Wilmington, CA. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of Quality Management Systems, ISO certification, as well as maintaining quality certifications to ensure quality in all products which results in a strong product reputation, reliable performance and thus, leading and/or growing market-share.

  • Manages quality management system and analytical services programs and functions.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to continually improve quality.
  • Creates and enforces quality management policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Manages and directs programs to ensure quality production from raw material sourcing through in-process and final inspection.
  • Selects, trains, directs, evaluates, and supports department personnel.
  • Manages departmental activities and capabilities to meet objectives within guidelines.
  • Project Management with emphasis on Quality related projects having direct/indirect impact on customer
  • Manage and maintain the organization’s quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and finished goods.
  • Facilitate activities and strategies related to change management to deliver necessary business results.
  • Partner with leadership team members in executing initiatives and projects to achieve strategic business plan and meet all objectives of the pillars.
  • Coordinates projects with other departments.
  • Primary customer contact for resolving quality related issues.
  • Recommends and implements methods to improve the quality of products and/or services.
  • Leads the hourly/salaried Quality Management team
  • Perform other related duties as may be reasonably assigned in the course of business.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

What do you bring?

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, mathematics, quality control, engineering or a related science technical field (ex: biochemistry/natural science)
  • Experience in quality control &/or engineering, production management or project management or related environment
  • Prior supervisory experience desired.
  • Member of/Certified in: ASQ disciplines, knowledge in ISO 9001 methodology, familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 5S & Six Sigma a plus
  • Analytical skills – including Excel, Access, Mini-tab and Data Management software
  • Good leader – able to bring out the best in others by utilizing professional interactions with internal groups and customers.
  • Very good conflict resolution skills, ability to diffuse volatile situations
  • Ability to recognize quality expected and be able to reproduce it.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations.
  • Must be able to effectively use Microsoft Office including Excel/Word/PowerPoint

Certain states require pay information be provided in job postings. The national pay range for this position is $87,500 to $135,500 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 12% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The total target cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $98,000 to $151,760.

Production Operator

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

In this hands-on Production Operator role, you will operate all production equipment, manage scrap, and maintain high productivity levels at the CertainTeed Gypsum Finishing Corner Production Plant in Bend, Oregon. You will also sustain a positive team environment and a focus on quality assurance and continuous improvement.

Typical Job Duties

  • Run efficient production lines, problem-solve to ensure products meet quality specifications, including checking product and equipment frequently, and make immediate adjustments to lines when needed.
  • Set-up, start, run, shutdown, clean, and troubleshoot extruders and other production equipment.
  • Build boxes, maintain printers, track tools and equipment, and ensure all needed supplies are available.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork (i.e. all logbooks and line paperwork), read and understand specifications for all products, grade products, and document all changes to the lines as they occur.
  • Keep lines and production floor clean, free of debris, and stocked for the incoming shift.
  • Consistently and effectively communicate with all other team members and ask for help when needed.
  • Participate in and promote safety, quality, continuous improvement events and ideas.
  • Identify opportunities and help find new or better solutions.

Work Schedule

Our shift schedules are fixed with current openings on the following shift:

  • Day Shift - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 4:30am-5:00pm

Compensation

Starting compensation for Production Operators is $20.00 per hour. Those assigned to the Night Shift also receive a 10% shift differential.

Additionally, all hours worked in excess of 10 hours per day are paid out as overtime. Therefore, in a normal work week, Production Operators work three 12-hours days for a total of 36 hours worked per week. In return, they receive 30 hours of regular earnings and 6 hours of overtime per week.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • One-year manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
  • Manual dexterity is required for operating machinery and computer entry.
  • Minimum English competency to adequately perform duties and responsibilities, both written and verbal

  • 40 sick hours are awarded annually and unused hours are paid out in January

Production Buyer Planner

The Production Buyer - Planner, reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, is responsible for supporting the site in procurement of all materials required to complete fabrication and assembly in accordance with due dates driven by the Master Schedule and Production site demands. This includes purchasing inventory, procuring and processing subcontracting / outsourcing and services, and production planning and inventory analysis.

The position will require the use of lean principals and continuous improvement methodology to optimize metrics, including safety, quality, and efficiency.

Strict adherence and a commitment carrying out the Corporate and/or local policies, rules, and regulations in these areas is required.

The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

Purchasing - Direct:

  • Plan and execute procurement of materials required for inventory
  • Ensure ERP system is updated timely.
  • Monitor open purchase orders and expedite as required to ensure on-time delivery.  Revise and update orders as necessary.
  • Proactively communicate material and component availability issues
  • Negotiate pricing and report cost savings
  • Assist in developing dual sources for key processes, materials and components
  • Maintain strong working relationships with key suppliers to confirm production/shipping schedules
  • Promote supplier engagement, especially for local suppliers.
  • Set up vendors.

Subcontracting/Outsourcing and Services:

  • Procurement of subcontracted items
  • Facilitate product movement to outside suppliers
  • Monitor open purchase orders and expedite as required to ensure on-time delivery
  • Place Scrap / raw material refining orders.
  • Place repair and maintenance orders.
  • Order supplies as required.

Planning and Inventory:

  • Maintain MRP system item data to ensure system is effectively planning future requirements.
  • Participate and contribute to inventory reduction initiatives.
  • Conduct material analysis of inventory.
  • Develop and communicate forecasts to suppliers and vendors
  • Assist in annual physical inventory and lead or perform cycle counts as per policy
  • Release and print work orders.
  • Complete routing modifications as needed.
  • Update and maintain work order validity.
  • Analyze and close work orders.  Scan and scrap work orders.
  • Review monthly work order variances.
  • Other special projects and assignments as required by management

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • Bachelor’s degree Supply Chain or Operations Management is required; or 7+ years experience within Supply Chain may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
  • 2+ years’ experience in Supply Chain, Planning, Purchasing, Scheduling with the understanding of manufacturing lead time, process, sub-contract operations and MRP/ERP knowledge is required.
  • 2+ years’ experience in inventory control and forecasting/planning is required.
  • Experience working in an IATF16949/ISO/AS9100 certified environment is preferred
  • Ability to communicate both written and orally throughout all levels of the organization and with customers.
  • Experience in planning for low volume/high mix environment.
  • Experience with shop floor reporting systems.
  • Experienced with the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • In-depth knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, preferably QAD manufacturing system.
  • Ability to work as part of a team along with strong decision making and organizational skills.
  • Ability to influence and drive solutions.
  • Strong analytical aptitude and problem solving skills.
  • Must be results oriented, self-motivated, flexible, dynamic, and proactive.

The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $76,300.00 to $117,700.00. Mechanical Engineering CO-OP/Intern, Manufacturing, Life Sciences - FALL 2025 ($20.00 an hour) Akron, OH

Purpose and Summary:

Under direct supervision/guidance, the engineering intern candidate will support the engineering team and gain practical experience by analyzing, optimizing, and improving manufacturing processes within the Akron site.

Screen & Packaging Specialist

Our specialized packaging department is the final step in the process before our products are shipped to our customers. Individuals working in this area are responsible for visually screening and packaging products according to visual aids, routing work instructions and customer specific requirements.   • Record data on work orders and inspection reports, record and report problems as they arise
  • Read work order routings to obtain methods for packaging product. When a work order routing is not available, retrieve data QAD

  • Issue materials to work orders and receive in product against work order through QAD.

  • Complete required verification steps for packing slips and move to next step.
  • Visually screen parts as needed, per instructions from the quality department.
  • Weigh count and package parts according to various instructions in work order routings or visual aids.
  • Clean, package product according to department standards.
  • Maintain inventory of all supplies used in the department. Submit various requisitions to purchasing.
  • Complete cycle counts as requested from planning
  • Complete DMR when non-conforming product is found
  • Working with your manager and Lead, prioritize work to ensure customer due dates are met
  • Reading, interpreting work instructions and verifying their accuracy. Making any corrections to these documents through proper channels for verification and Revision control

 

 

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
