We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Engineering Intern (Student) to join our dynamic team at the Poestenkill, NY Life Sciences manufacturing facility. This role provides an excellent opportunity to work on real-world projects, optimize manufacturing processes, and ensure quality standards in a fast-paced production environment. WHAT WILL YOU DO? Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineering Intern is responsible for learning and developing quality engineering initiatives, project management, and leadership skills while actively undertaking and accomplishing projects assigned to them. This key player will support the implementation, maintenance, control, and monitoring of quality systems and standards that ensure the quality of materials and products at every stage of production. This role ensures compliance with corporate quality policies, regulatory requirements, ISO standards, and customer specifications/expectations. The Quality Engineering Intern takes a hands-on approach to support continuous improvement quality systems. These systems include receiving, in-process and final inspection, product auditing, certification, calibration, complaint handling, EVENT/CAPA/SCAR processes, nonconforming material control, product stewardship, and regulatory requests. The role will involve supporting ISO internal audits, training operators, participating in customer and registrar audits, management review, and overseeing document control. An employee in this position works in an environment in which safety, environmental and health concerns demand constant attention. Strict adherence to Corporate and/or local policies, rules, and regulations in these areas is required. A commitment to carrying out the Company’s Policies is required. An employee in this position must focus on customers' expectations, prevent problems, and strive for continuous improvement resulting in improved results for themselves, customers and other employees.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

• Must be a student pursuing a B.S. degree in an Engineering or Quality Oriented Discipline (Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial) or Quality and in good academic standing. • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Minitab or similar software knowledge is desirable. • Must possess strong critical thinking, problem solving, analyzing, and examining skills to find the best solutions to various situations • Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English • The incumbent will interact with senior internal and external personnel on plant processes, projects and investigations

The Plant Quality Manager for Saint-Gobain Life Sciences ensures the plant remains in full compliance with regulatory requirements and ISO requirements as they pertain to the plant, customer specifications, and corporate quality policies. Will ensure the Quality Management System is implemented per requirements (see below) and to report areas of concern to Management.

Key Accountabilities:

Implementation and oversight of a Quality Management System that operates in compliance with corporate quality policies and procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements and industry guidance, including:

  • Document control and review/approval of controlled documents
  • Change management and review of all change controls
  • Supplier quality management and performance of supplier audits as appropriate
  • Complaint management including robust root cause analysis and CAPA
  • Internal Audit Program
  • Training Program
  • Validation Master Plans including equipment, process, product, sterilization and test methods
  • Quality control laboratory and review/approval of QC testing
  • Cleanroom practices including qualification, monitoring and behavior
  • Quality Risk Management

Supports the Global QMS e-tool (MQ1) implementation, plus the WW QMS Manager, in development and deployment of policies and procedures.

Performs Quality Review of batch documentation and testing and determines disposition for all production batches and incoming raw materials.

Customer Management:

  • Facilitate/host customer audits
  • Ensure robust and effective corrective action to customer audit observations.
  • Review/approve Quality Agreements with customers
  • Partner in the resolution of Quality Issues and requests for information by initiating effective interdepartmental communication.
  • Manage ISO Certification & Maintenance

Facilitates Management Review process and the metrics control plan to measure the health of the QMS, Manufacturing System, and Supply Chain.

Performance management, training, and development of direct reports.

REQUIRED:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree - Life Sciences related field (i.e. Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology), Engineering or Related Field; Required
  • Master's Degree - Engineering or Business; Preferred.

Experience:

  • 8+ years of Life Sciences experience in Regulated Industry (i.e. Pharma, Biopharma, Medical Devices, etc.)
  • 6+ years of progressive manufacturing experience within Quality Management.

What’s the job?

The primary function of the Electronic Technician (ET) is to bridge the gap between the plants Industrial Electricians and Engineering staff by providing electrical/electronic troubleshooting support and the preventative/predictive maintenance of electrical & electronic equipment.

Essential functions:

  • Responsible for the troubleshooting of PLC’s related to safety, automation, and control systems
  • Conduct troubleshooting and calibration of thermocouples, RTD’s, level sensing devices, thickness detectors, consistency transmitters, load cells, servos and other electrical/electronic devices
  • Conduct preventive maintenance, testing and troubleshooting of VFD’s (Variable Frequency Drives)
  • Provide support to the Engineering department on new installations of electronic control equipment
  • Assist the electrical department as needed in troubleshooting of plant equipment, machinery, utilities, and safety systems
  • Assist management in root-cause analysis on losses related to electrical/electronic failures
  • To closely work with the other Maintenance department crafts to support initiatives that improves equipment reliability

Schedule: 7am-3pm Mon-Friday,  or 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am (4 on 4 off rotation)

Compensation: 37.44 per hour, plus shift differential

STEPS TO JOIN US

Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees’ wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the pay rate for this position which is $37.44 per hour, plus shift differential (see below.) In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 7% and can be up to 21% eligible earnings based on company performance measures. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company performance and is not a guarantee.

Additional Pay Incentives for This Role Include:

  • Shift Differentials Hourly Rate plus 2nd Shift Differential of $.45/ hr if working 3P-11P; Hourly Rate plus 3rd Shift Differential of $.55/ hr if working 11P-7A and Hourly Rate plus 3rd Shift Differential of $.63, if working 7pm-7am Shift)
  • Standard Overtime (Hourly Rate * 1.5x)
  • Attendance Incentive for Meeting Company Attendance Requirements (starts at $200/yr)
  • Weekend Shift Incentive - (All Sundays worked is 2.0x per hour)

Wage: $49.46/hour

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the industrial electrician is responsible for completing electrical maintenance work as directed by the maintenance supervisor, and other plant personnel, to ensure suitable availability, reliability of plant equipment and machinery associated with the manufacture of wallboard as well as ensuring compliance with local building codes.

 

  • Maintain a safe working environment with regards to all electrical maintenance work.
  • Work within the parameters of the plant’s WCM & quality system with multi-functional teams on WCM projects.
  • Maintain strong focus on Availability/Utilization targets for process equipment.
  • Assist with improving and maintaining plant electrical, instrumentation & automation systems; including preventative, predictive, spares planning/inventory control, purchasing, work procedures & documentation.
  • Assist with planning and scheduling of electrical preventive & corrective maintenance work.
  • Provide off shift support for electrical equipment breakdowns.
  • Assist in generating & recording maintenance history on SAP.
  • Must be adept at conducting IR scanning of plant equipment as required.
  • Some experience working with Maintenance SAP system.
  • Working knowledge of Lock-Out Tag-Out, Electrical Safety, Arc Flash protection requirements are a must.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with machine installation experience.
  • Must be able to perform rotating shift work if required.
  • Candidates must have strong trades, written and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage a variety of jobs or projects simultaneously.

Accounting & Reporting Business Partner

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

The Accounting and Reporting Business Partner will serve as the primary business contact or Business Partner for several business units who are internal customers of the Shared Service Center (SSC).

  • Business and SSC Liaison – The Business Partner acts as a vital link between Shared Service Center (SSC) capabilities and its business objectives. Advisor leverages their business, financial, and technical knowledge to peer lead cross-functional teams in the delivery of improved business outcomes.
  • Customer Service – As liaisons between the business community, Service Provider and SSC solution groups, the Business Partner ensures that business challenges are properly articulated before a financial solution is designed and implemented. The Business Partner leverages their business and financial skills, participating in and leading peer groups to create solutions meeting complex product and process challenges. Engages with the Financial Directors (FD) of the Business Unit’s (Internal Customers) to ensure quality of service by establishing and complying with MSA and SOW; measure service performance with KPI’s; and communicate by chairing monthly customer meetings. Proactively seek opportunities to improve service delivery to their customers.
  • Support month-end close – Support an accurate and timely monthly close is completed for several Internal Customers in accordance with a closing schedule and Saint-Gobain reporting deadlines. Responsible to maintain closing schedules and keep current. Review and approve journal entries emphasizing accuracy and control; manage complex intercompany relationships; and review multiple tax provisions for various general ledgers.
  • Financial reporting - Support the preparation of a complex set of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for several Internal customers, delivering accurate and timely results to the FD’s. Provide control lists of management reports and analyses to Service Provider.
  • Account analysis and reconciliation – Review / approve balance sheet accounts reconciled by Service Provider ensuring balance sheet accounts are properly justified.; monitor and analyse general ledger activity for several Internal Customers.
  • Business compliance internal controls – Within the Internal Controls Reference Framework (ICRF), review internal controls, assess compliance, and remediate compliance gaps working with Service Provider and SSC where necessary; improve accounting processes and internal controls with a focus on continuous improvement initiatives within the general accounting area and across the SSC as a whole. Job Responsibilities
