Distribution Manager

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

The Distribution Manager is responsible for ensuring daily efficient, accurate, and timely warehouse operations. These operations include workers' safety, receiving, storage, order picking, shipping, inventory management, and warehouse facility (space) management. This position will support a safe working environment in the area of responsibility at all times. In addition, they will correct or report unsafe acts or conditions through appropriate channels of resolution. This role will perform accident investigations, complete required paperwork, and perform necessary follow-up as required.

The Distribution Manager is the primary managerial contact with the Warehouse Supervisor. The Distribution Manager will help set the tone of conduct regarding employees' attitudes toward their work. The supervisor’s attitude toward the employees, personality, leadership capability, technical competence, and focus on continual improvement will help determine their success.

An important function of the Distribution Manager is the proper scheduling and utilization of people to result in optimum productivity (e.g., sensible use of overtime). The incumbent will provide regular feedback, including discipline and documentation where appropriate, on individual and group performance.

The Distribution Manager will also manage administrative responsibilities, including organizing, scheduling, and dispatching daily work assignments, staging space, and dock facilities to maximize efficient material flow.

Essential Functions:

  • Planning – responsible for balancing the resources of warehouse space, equipment, and time with customer demand. This medium-term planning includes pick location and storage zone profiling, yard management, and identification of equipment and labor requirements in advance of their actual need.
  • Communicate & document employee expectations and assess employee performance. Provide coaching and development opportunities and administer disciplinary action up to and including termination if needed. Will be required to assist in the evaluation and selection process of hiring hourly employees.
  • Oversee the training of warehouse employees to ensure they receive adequate training prior to operating forklifts and any other motorized equipment, ensuring they follow the standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Inventory Management – ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all inventory balances and data records, reconciling SAP as needed. This is accomplished by the training and counseling of employees when necessary to properly record inventory transactions. It also includes administering the cycle count program and investigating discrepancies and errors.
  • Continuous Improvement – serving on and leading employee project teams within the plant and at times, with sister plants, as well as education and training efforts to upgrade personal skills along with those of the warehouse employees. Areas of process improvement opportunity include shipment accuracy, warehouse damage, and picking efficiency.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics or a similar discipline is preferred. 
  • 2-5 years of Warehouse Supervisory experience. 
  • Experience with SAP and Inventory Management.
  • Union experience is highly preferred.
  • Know and understand the quality and safety policies.
  • Complete all quality and safety training required for the specific position.
  • Follow all quality and safety rules and procedures, and remind others.
  • Commit to addressing and reporting any unsafe condition or quality issue immediately.
  • Be empowered and speak up when unsafe behaviors are observed, or quality issues arise and to not place blame while investigating these issues.

Travel: 20% = 4 full days of travel per month or 50 full days per year.

Sr. Project Manager, Major Capital Projects

The Sr. Project Manager, Major Capital Projects, will be part of the TIP (Technology Industrial Performance) organization to manage Saint-Gobain major Capex projects in North America with $150-300M value.  This role will be critical to ensure compliance with prescribed SG procedures, managing team resources to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.  This position is expected to execute this through effective leadership of a cross-cultural and functional team of skilled Technical and Managerial experts.  

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the completion of specific projects for Saint-Gobain North America while ensuring these projects are on time, on budget, and within scope.
  • Provides guidance and leadership to project teams to deliver large projects from Step 0 to Step 7, ensuring the teams work cohesively and effectively.  
  • Develop the necessary site safety systems, procedures, and controls to ensure a safe work environment and compliance with all Saint Gobain Group EHS regulations and standards (and local standards if higher), to achieve zero accidents.
  • Ensure all project work is undertaken in line with stated company policies and procedures: project execution manual, capex manual, and loss prevention manual.
  • Conflict management of all the coordination of all parties, finding the correct balance to move forward.
  • Coordinate the recruitment of the project team with the TIP NA Engineering teams.
  • Reports the status of the project to the Steering Committee on a monthly basis and provides regular updates to the Sr. Director of Major Capital Projects.

Director, Regional Human Resources Operations (West Coast)

Senior Project Manager R&D PMO

Job Summary

CertainTeed is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex, cross-functional R&D projects that drive innovation in building materials and systems. This role will be responsible for managing the full project lifecycle—from concept through commercialization—ensuring alignment with strategic goals, customer / market requirements, technical feasibility, and operational readiness.

The Senior Project Manager plays a key role in advancing the strategy to support CertainTeed R&D, and CT business units. Building on a strong foundation in project management, this role requires strong business acumen to manage complex projects, coordinating closely across multiple functions and business leadership teams. In addition to project management, the role will also be responsible for identifying and mitigating program risks and communication with key stakeholders.

You will partner closely with engineers, designers, researchers, and business stakeholders to deliver critical companywide projects, while also providing a strategic lens to project planning across multiple initiatives and mentoring junior team members as needed. The ideal candidate will be able to understand complex concepts, translate them to clear action plans to communicate to stakeholders, and be able to drive decision making based on those conversations. Consensus building, stakeholder management, and a pro-active approach are all required skills for this role.

Essential Functions

Stakeholder Communication

  • Manage internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and communicating the business value, status of initiatives, and critical decisions.
  • Ensuring timely communication of project status, risks, and mitigation strategies to leadership.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and success metrics in collaboration with stakeholders.

Project Ownership

  • Lead end-to-end project management, translating evolving business and R&D needs into clear project plans.

Cross-functional Coordination:

Strategic Contribution:

  • Support the Innovation and Sustainability Portfolio Manager in refining PMO vision and roadmaps by bringing forward customer insights, market trends, and technical feasibility considerations.

Team Enablement

Injection Molding Technician

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

The Injection Molding Technician will be responsible for the 3rd shift (10:30pm-7am) operations of the molding department. Which will include Mold Set-Ups, Thermoplastic Processing, Basic Machine Maintenance, Scheduling, Shift Changeovers, and ensuring a high level of Quality. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manufactures close tolerance plastic parts by setting up and operating an injection molding machine, while maintaining high safety standards, equipment, and all quality documentation. 
  • Set-Up and Run New Production Jobs when Scheduled.
  • Ensure manufactured parts conform with all customer requirements through the completion of detailed inspection plans/reports.
  • Runs production safely and consistently measuring all critical areas per sample lot size.
  • Deburrs and bags all production in accordance with the router steps and stamps off operations before moving to the next operation.
  • Maintains 5S work space before, during, and after each scheduled shift.

Essential Functions:

  • Reads blueprint drawings and work orders to understand and meet customer specifications.
  • Produces parts by following the work orders, blueprints, and programming folders.
  • Sets up molds for each work cell and maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements following manufacturer's instructions.
  • Maintains drawing specifications by observing process temperatures and injection pressures to detect non-conformances.
  • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces.
  • Calculates dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers, Vernier calipers, and optical comparator.
  • Informs supervisors and team leads when machinery needs repairs.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with all company EH&S policies and procedures.
  • Maintains work space before, during, and after each scheduled shift in accordance with 5S principles.
  • Contribute to team effort by performing other supporting tasks as directed by the Shift Supervisor.
  • Work in a manner that complies with all site policies and procedures, and actively demonstrates SG principles of conduct & action.

 

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

Required Skills & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED certificate
