Empowering Student Success Through Meaningful Opportunities
SFRC gives students a chance to explore immersive manufacturing environments with a focus on plant jobs that do not require an advanced degree, helping them connect what they learn in school to what’s possible in the workplace.
As part of our broader commitment to manufacturing workforce development, Saint-Gobain North America leverages this educational experience to spark curiosity, build awareness and inspire the next generation to pursue fulfilling manufacturing careers through hands-on learning.
How Our Program Works
SFRC is a comprehensive manufacturing workforce development program that contributes to connecting the next generation of manufacturing employees with career opportunities in the communities we serve.
Saint-Gobain volunteers partner with educators in the community, to provide students with an educational experience that brings learning to life. Our curriculum empowers Saint-Gobain employees to share their career development journey to inspire the next generation workforce and invites educators and students to tour our plants to experience a day-in-the-life of manufacturing. Students can build skills and create lasting connections between education and industry.
Our manufacturing workforce development begins by working closely with your school to lay the foundation for a successful experience, from logistics to student engagement.
- Identifying School Partnerships: Connect educators with Saint-Gobain leaders in the community.
- Planning Session: Align on timelines, curriculum and overall learning objectives.
- Assign Saint-Gobain Site Leads: A dedicated contact guides you from start to finish.
We bring learning to life by connecting the classroom to real experiences.
- School Site Visit: Saint-Gobain volunteers visit to introduce the program.
- Volunteer Onboarding: Engage students with insights into circular manufacturing, innovation and World Class Manufacturing practices.
- Plant Site Visit: Students tour a local facility to see robotics, automation and sustainable practices in action.
We measure the impact of our manufacturing workforce development program by reviewing each cohort’s outcomes and using insights to strengthen the program.
- Key Insight: Collect feedback from each group to guide future improvements.
Is SFRC For You?
Who Can Benefit from Our Manufacturing Workforce Development Program
We’re looking to connect with educational institutions in communities where our manufacturing facilities are located. If your goal is to prepare students for a future shaped by sustainable construction and growing manufacturing opportunities in the USA and Canada, we encourage you to express your interest.
By signing up, you will allow us to learn more about your educational goals and share more about our program. Together, we can help students imagine the possibilities for their career and future! While this doesn't guarantee a spot in the program, we carefully review each submission to determine the best fit and will be in touch with next steps.
Real Career Outcomes from SFRC Pilot Programs
Our pilot programs in Shakopee, MN and Oxford, NC demonstrated substantial benefits for students, schools and local communities, sparking interest and a new understanding of careers in manufacturing.
