Position Summary
The Production & Materials Planner is responsible for coordinating production schedules, managing material flow, and supporting inventory and customer service functions across the Wheatfield facility. This role partners closely with operations, purchasing, and customer service to ensure on-time delivery, optimized inventory levels, and efficient plant performance.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Scheduling
-Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules across multiple departments
-Align production plans with plant capacity, material availability, and customer demand
-Adjust schedules as needed to meet changing priorities and operational constraints
Materials & Inventory Management
-Coordinate with purchasing to manage raw materials and chemical inventory
-Monitor in-process and finished goods inventory levels
-Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy and reduce excess or shortages
Customer & Order Management
-Enter and manage customer orders within ERP system (QAD)
-Support order changes, updates, and lead-time communication
-Monitor service levels and implement improvements to enhance on-time delivery
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
-Generate production, inventory, and performance reports for leadership
-Support ERP system transitions and process improvements
-Participate in Lean initiatives, continuous improvement, and cross-functional teams
IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
Education
-Associate's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience) required
-Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience
-3 to 5 years of production planning, materials planning, or manufacturing experience
-ERP experience required (QAD strongly preferred)
-Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Access preferred

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
-Combination of office and plant-floor environment
-Exposure to manufacturing conditions (dust, noise, temperature variation)
-Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and work around plant equipment as needed
-Must adhere to all safety policies and PPE requirements

BENEFITS IN JOINING US
Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees’ wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position which is $72,500 to $111,000 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 9% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $79,025 to $120,990. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
