The Reliability Engineer is responsible for leading maintenance, facilities, and reliability initiatives to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation. This role drives equipment reliability, optimizes maintenance processes, and leads capital projects to improve safety, productivity, and cost performance. The position serves as a key technical leader, providing engineering expertise to enhance manufacturing processes, maintain critical plant infrastructure, and support continuous improvement across the site.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Reliability Leadership
- Lead all preventive and corrective maintenance efforts to maximize equipment uptime and efficiency
- Manage maintenance teams and external contractors to ensure safe, high-quality execution
- Develop and manage maintenance budgets and cost controlsMonitor key performance indicators (e.g., downtime, OEE, maintenance costs) and implement improvement initiatives
- Optimize work order systems and maintenance processes to improve visibility and execution
- Oversee spare parts inventory strategy to ensure availability and cost optimization
Capital Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Lead capital projects from concept through execution, including scope, vendor selection, and implementation
- Drive initiatives to improve reliability, reduce downtime, and increase operational efficiency
- Support process improvements to reduce scrap, improve productivity, and lower costs
Facilities & Infrastructure Management
- Oversee plant infrastructure systems including utilities, power generation, water, and compressed air
- Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operation of facilities and equipment
Leadership & Safety
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards
- Lead, coach, and develop maintenance employees, including performance management and training
- Foster collaboration across maintenance, engineering, and production teams

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline (required)
Experience
- 5–7 years of experience in manufacturing, maintenance, or reliability engineering roles
- Experience troubleshooting manufacturing processes and industrial equipment
- Prior experience within industrial maintenance environments
Preferred:
- Experience in chemical, ceramics, or similar manufacturing environments
- Background in electrical, automation, or controls systems
Skills & Competencies
- Strong problem-solving and process optimization skills
- Experience with reliability systems and SCADA/MES platforms (e.g., Ignition) preferred
- Project management and CAPEX experience
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement tools
- Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

BENEFITS IN JOINING US
Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees’ wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position which is $92,000 - $142,000 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 12% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $95,000-$146,000. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
