What’s the job?

  • EHS Coordinator is the site lead of Environmental, Health and Safety programs. An employee in this role shall be responsible for implementation of actions and programs related to CertainTeed Canada EHS Strategy and the overall Saint-Gobain EHS Policy and Charter.
  • Identifying EHS hazards and evaluating risks in the workplace; implementing prevention systems.
  • Conducting EHS inspection of critical equipment, systems, documents and records to ensure compliance with legal requirements and standards adherence.
  • Offering council to all employees in various EHS matters, including Concerns Reporting, Safety Observations, Risk Assessments, etc.
  • Reporting EHS-related events (injuries, illnesses, near-miss) to corporate EHS team and through the central database.
  • Participating in meetings focused on EHS continual improvements, lessons learnt and collaboration.
  • Maintaining documentation (incl. digital) and records related to WCM Safety and Environmental Pillar.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

What do you bring?

  • University degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Relations or any related field.  
  • 1-3 years of experience in an EHS role in the manufacturing or construction industry.
  • Experience in WCB reporting and return to work process. 
  • Strong active listening ability of collect information from employees and to relay relevant facts through incident investigations and risk reduction actions
  • Strong computer proficiency (Intermediate level - MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and technical aptitude
  • Scientific problem solving methods.
