GENERAL DESCRIPTION/PURPOSE:
Safety is of primary importance to this and all positions.
Under the supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor, the Material Handler is accountable for gathering warehouse and outside products, scanning products into inventory, preparing products for shipment, and loading finished product onto carrier trucks.
Dependability is an essential part of this job as well as the ability to team with co-workers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Adhere to all plant/OSHA safety rules.
- Adhere to all JSA's pertaining to the shipping department.
- Perform safety inspections and report all unsafe conditions or Near Miss events immediately.
- Wear all PPE as required
- Follow all environmental and housekeeping requirements, properly dispose of trash, perform general housekeeping duties in the shipping area.
- Ensure loads are packed according to specified order, and that the weight is distributed evenly throughout the trailer.
- Pick loads for shipment, gather skids, verify load with pack sheets, and load carrier trucks.
- Pull completed skids from the packaging area and place on the yard.
- Perform product/label inspection for accuracy and scan to location using SAP scan gun.
- Organize product inventory and shelving units and perform daily cycle counts.
- Safely operate forklifts used in loading and perform daily safety checks.
- Any other duties assigned.

EDUCATION
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
EXPERIENCE
1-2 years of related work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
